Today is National Supported Internship Day. Founded in 2023 by @dfnprojectsearch, it raises awareness of supported internships. These are a great way for young people with special educational needs and disabilities to gain workplace skills. We are proud to celebrate our amazing interns here at SaTH.

Specialist teams will soon begin work to safely remove Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) found in a kitchen area at Princess Royal Hospital. In her latest update, Paula Gardner, Interim Chief Nursing Officer, spoke of colleague Jan Meredith who has been shortlisted in the Practice Supervisor of the Year category for the Student Nursing Times Awards 2025. With an incredible career spanning over four decades, Jan has dedicated her professional life to nursing and education, nurturing the next generation of nurses. Today we mark the COVID-19 Day of Reflection. 2025 marks five years since the pandemic began and we continue to remember those affected. We honour the tireless work and acts of kindness shown, during this unprecedented time.

Today is International Women's Day. It is a global celebration of the achievements, strength, and contributions of women around the world. It is also a day dedicated to recognising the achievements of women, reflecting on the progress we have made and committing to the work that still lies ahead. Women make up more than 75% of the NHS workforce and their dedication, expertise and leadership are the backbone of our healthcare system. The future of our healthcare system and ensuring the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care of all.

The first phase of works to modernise and redesign our Emergency Department at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital is on track for completion at the end of the month.👏 This will provide the clinical space needed for our teams to continue to make improvements and provide a positive urgent and emergency care experience for every patient. 💙 In the new space there will be larger purpose-built resuscitation bays new larger patient bays and improved patient visibility through modern staff bases.✅ You can read more about the remodelling and how this will improve care for the most unwell patients we see here 👉https://lnkd.in/eVchfX2w
