Additive Manufacture of High Integrity Components… We are pleased to announce Supriyo Ganguly as a speaker at our upcoming TG2 Technical Group event, which will explore, ‘Additive Manufacture of High Integrity Components,’ on 24 October. He will be discussing ‘Research review on fatigue crack propagation of wire plus arc additive manufactured steel components under different service conditions’. Supriyo is a metallurgist, and currently his research interest focuses on understanding the integrity of structural and functional alloy deposits during metal additive manufacturing and welding. Welding, repair welding and additive manufacturing are the vital technologies being researched for sustainable manufacturing. However, the thermal energy deployed would result in creation of a dendritic microstructure with variably distributed residual stress field. Supriyo focuses on understanding the underpinning mechanism of microstructure and stress development during manufacturing of an alloy and how to mitigate them to improve integrity and performance under critical and complex service environment. 🌐 Discover more: https://lnkd.in/eTrCQPnk #AdditiveManufacturing #Components #Welding #Joinery | TWI
