Thanks to Ross Kemp for kicking London Poppy Day off from the Tower of London this morning, where he took part in a military guard physical training session before joining serving personnel and Poppy Appeal collectors in a bid to raise £1 million in one day. Across London, thousands of British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force (RAF) personnel have joined Poppy Appeal collectors to hand out poppies and collect donations at Network Rail and Transport for London stations, in offices and on the streets of the Capital. If you’re out and about in London today, please do say hello to our fantastic collectors, and show your support for the Armed Forces community by wearing your poppy.

📣 D'you hear there! We need your OPINION... It's really important... ⚠WHAT: A survey on the needs of the Royal Navy and RAF communities commissioned by Greenwich Hospital alongside Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity and RAF Benevolent Fund... ⚠WHY: RAND Europe who have been commissioned to undertake this research, say: ''The UK military charity sector provides support to a sizeable and diverse community of military personnel, veterans and their families. The size and demographics of this community are expected to evolve significantly out to #2040. Most research on the Armed Forces is carried out at the tri-service level, where ARMY Serving personnel, veterans and families comprise the MAJORITY OF RESEARCH SAMPLES. 📈 As the size and demographics of Service personnel, veterans and their families change, so too do their support needs in areas such as #wellbeing, #employment, #finance and #housing. ✅ In order to provide effective support to the Armed Forces Community, and to ensure that funds are INVESTED IN THE MOST RELEVANT AND IMPACTFUL WAY, service providers require an accurate understanding of the evolving size, demographics and needs of the community.'' ⚠ SO WHAT: The #RoyalNavy and #RoyalMarines are underrepresented in this type of research. Without your input, it makes it extremely difficult to understand the reality on the ground, where the support needs to go. For current and future generations, surveys like this work. But only if YOU engage and give your experience and input. ⚠HOW: Please, click the link below ⬇ complete the survey, make the voice of the #RoyalNavy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary heard! https://lnkd.in/e6Uusv4M

📣 All of the team here at The White Ensign Association (The WEA) wish to convey our heartiest congratulations to Vice Admiral (Rtd) Paul Bennett CB OBE in the appointment of National President at the Royal British Legion. BZ! 👍 #workingtogetherforyourfuture #charity #militarycharity
The Royal British Legion is pleased to announce the appointment of Vice Admiral (Rtd) Paul Bennett CB OBE as the charity’s new National President. Vice Admiral Bennett will assume the role in October, ahead of the Remembrance period. His first duties will be to represent the Royal British Legion at key ceremonial events in November, including the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, and the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. Vice Admiral Bennett joined the Royal Navy in 1985. Following an extensive career at sea, including several roles ashore, he was recognised with an OBE for his work in Navy Command for Above Water Capability and Maritime Security. His final role before retiring from service in 2021 was as Chief of Staff for Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia, after which he assumed a role as a NATO Senior Mentor. Vice Admiral Bennett’s appointment follows the passing of Sir Clive Johnstone KBE CB who held the role from May 2023 until May 2024.
