About us
The Wildlife Trust is a charity that works for a better future for wildlife across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Northamptonshire. We own and manage over 100 nature reserves across our three counties, covering over 5,500 acres; all with free public access. As a charity we rely heavily on volunteers to help us with a range of activities from dormouse monitoring and leading guided walks to fundraising. We also run wildlife training workshops for adults of all skills and abilities, helping us to maintain a key resource of over 800 volunteers who undertake essential monitoring and management work across our nature reserves. The Wildlife Trust is entirely dependent on voluntary donations and encourages everyone to enjoy wildlife and wild places in towns and the countryside. Visit: www.wildlifebcn.org today.

✨Here is the moment beavers returned to Northamptonshire for the first time in 400 years. 🦫🦫🦫🦫 🥰Today we released a family of eight beavers to the Nene Wetlands nature reserve. 🦫The family were translocated by experts at Beaver Trust and released by our team into a 17-hectare fenced enclosure. Mum Boudica and dad Alan are now making their home at Delta Pit close to the Rushden Lakes shopping centre. 💚Thank you to Anglian Water Services which has supported this project through its Get River Positive fund. 👉Read the full story on our website - link in bio! #beaver #beavers #wildlifetrustbcn #wildlifetrust #northants #northamptonshire

A look back at our first ever Wild Work Day at Granta Park. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday, giving up their time and volunteering to help care for Lagden’s Grove woodland on the West side of the Estate. From clearing paths to improving habitats, every effort made a meaningful impact on our local wildlife and community spaces. Beyond the conservation work, the day was a fantastic opportunity to build connections, meet new faces across the Park, and step away from the desk for some fresh air. A little mud, teamwork, and hard work truly go a long way! A special shout-out to our Landscaping team, Giles Landscapes and Management, and The Wildlife Trusts experts, whose knowledge and passion made the experience both educational and rewarding. Looking forward to more Wild Work Days ahead!
