Nature is one of our best defences against flooding – and the numbers prove it! 🌿 A new report from The Wildlife Trusts and RSA Insurance (tagged), shows that every £1 invested in natural flood management (NFM) delivers £10 in benefits over 30 years. NFM means working with nature—restoring wetlands, creating ponds, rewilding rivers and welcoming beavers back to our landscapes. These solutions reduce flood risk, enhance wildlife, store carbon and improve well-being. With flooding costing the UK £2.2 billion annually—and that figure set to rise—it's time to scale up investment in nature-based solutions. A rare historical artifact has been generously donated to The Wildlife Trusts, and set to be auctioned thanks to Hansons Auctioneers . The stunning Fabergé case from 1915 portrays Ivan the Terrible’s son on a rearing horse and is adorned with intricate enamel floral designs. This serves as a powerful reminder of how legacy gifts help nature thrive.
