About us

The Children’s Hospital Charity makes our brilliant hospital even better! One of only four specialist children’s hospitals in the UK, the quality of care here is testament to the skill and dedication of staff, the generosity of our donors and the courage of our children and their families. Children come from all over the world to see Sheffield Children's Hospital specialists and we work hard to make it better by funding things which the NHS does not cover. The money raised through donations buys life-saving equipment, funds vital research and treatment for thousands of children from across the world and helps us create a comfortable, engaging environment for our patients. Patients and their families are at the centre of everything we do. They deserve to be treated with the best facilities in a hospital designed with children in mind. We fund four key areas: • £250,000 of research each year into the prevention and cure of childhood illnesses. • New facilities to extend the range of treatment provided. • Improvements to the hospital environment that will benefit patients, families and visitors. • Specialist medical equipment.

    Last week, we welcomed Neiva and her Aunty Rebecca to Charity HQ for a cheque presentation to celebrate their fundraising of a whopping £2,340! Neiva's Aunty Rebecca raised this incredible amount when she took part in the Sheffield 10K as a thank you for Neiva's care at Sheffield Children's.     We’re wishing our #TeamTheo trekkers a huge good luck today as they set off for Angkor Wat, Cambodia! 💛 Pam Goodison Glass is taking on the trek, having already completed our trek to Machu Picchu in 2022! Through her handmade stained glass making business, raffles and other creative fundraising activities, Pam has truly put the ‘fun’ in fundraising! Also making every mile count, we have Liam Hughes and Leanne Surtees from mortgagepa.co.uk taking on the trek this week. They have rallied friends, family, the local community and their business together to fundraise - raising a whopping £7,000 so far! 👏 The nine day challenge will take three of our brave supporters through the valleys and dense forests of Cambodia, taking in the stunning views and challenging terrains - all to raise vital funds for patients, families and staff at Sheffield Children’s.     Spread some Christmas cheer with Lucy Bronze and The Children’s Hospital Charity! Lucy’s footballing career has seen her play for some of the biggest clubs, lift some of the biggest trophies, and be named among the best female players in the world. After visiting Sheffield Children’s Hospital last year, Lucy is now getting behind this festive fundraiser. Lucy’s visit was on Christmas Eve, and she was able to see firsthand the incredible care Sheffield Children’s offers. The Children’s Hospital Charity provides vital funds so the hospital can go above and beyond for patients and their families. By taking part in Theo’s Christmas Jumper Day with Lucy Bronze you can help to change lives.     We've been brewing up something special!💙 The Charity is proud to announce our collaboration with BIRDHOUSE TEA COMPANY LIMITED to bring you "Theo's Chari-tea!" This special breakfast blend will warm you through the winter, and 40% of each packet will go directly to the Charity!     We've had an action packed October here at the Charity. Let's see how some of our amazing fundraisers have been supporting the Charity over the last month. Josh Alldread and Jack Power took on an incredible challenge when they ran the distance from Manchester to Sheffield Children's. They beat their target time, reaching their destination in under nine hours! Thanks to this challenge, they raised an incredible £2,265! Kaye Hudson from ARNOLD MAGNETIC TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED took on the Charity's Wing Walk. Safely strapped to the top of a propeller plane, Kaye had the experience of a lifetime all while raising funds for the Charity. Symphony Group PLC walked a whopping 17 miles from their head office in Barnsley to Sheffield Children's to raise funds for the Charity. Team members George Burtoft and Emma Watson were fundraising on behalf of family members who received outstanding care at the hospital. Local greengrocers, Sharps Of Sheffield, supported the Charity by kindly donating a portion of their pumpkin sales. 🎃 These are just some of our fantastic fundraisers from this month. We appreciate each and every one of our supporters, who are all fundraising in their own way, to help the Charity go above and beyond for Sheffield Children's. 💛💙 If you'd like to fundraise for the charity, please head to our website to see what events are coming up: tchc.org.uk/events, or if you're feeling creative, plan your own fundraiser!
