It’s spreading…it’s organic. Catch up with us on #punchnews as our #ceo was featured on the news today 🗞️ 2027 elections: Nigerians should leverage on technology, says expert. Excerpt from the interview: Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a technology expert, Caleb Udeoha, has said Nigerians can leverage technology to vote out non-performing political officeholders. Udeoha, the Chief Executive Officer of TheChoice9ja, stated this in an interview on Arise Television while unveiling TheChoice9ja, a digital platform on which Nigerians can rank the performance of elected political leaders. He said Nigerians can use technology to hold their leaders accountable, stressing that information is vital in the democratic process. According to him, political office holders will be assessed and ranked on the platform based on their campaign promises, as well as other relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) that are relevant to their offices. Udeoha said, “This platform was developed from a serious and intensive survey we did in the UK with Nigerians in the Diaspora. The survey was about what Nigerians are expecting from politicians after the promises made during campaigns before elections. “We figured out that Nigerians want to be able to hold politicians accountable based on their manifestos. After electioneering, Nigerians want to hold politicians accountable based on their KPIs. They want to be able to say, ‘If you promised us this and that within this period. How have you performed and proven yourself to be accountable. “What has actually happened is that Nigerians want to hold politicians accountable for saying, ‘Please, you said this and that in your campaign; now campaigns are over. How do we rate you based on specific KPIs? If politicians have a job in paid employment, for them to keep the job, they have to perform in line with their KPIs, and Nigeria should not be run by people who are not serious about making life better for the people. “We should have leaders that care about the people, leaders that seek change, leaders that seek betterment in the lives of the people. You can actually kick out non-performing politicians on this platform – that is what we intend to achieve.” Shedding light on how the ranking platform works, Udeoha stated that the ranking happens every quarter. “So in a quarter, you jump on the platform and rank the public office holder you want to rate. For the President, you rate him based on his eight key-point agenda; for the governors, you rate them based on the sustainable goals set by the United Nations, same as the senators and the members of the House of Representatives,” he said. Speaking further, Udeoha noted that the platform will provide a measurable assessment of the impact of government policies. “We ask how has government policies affected people in their day-to-day living, and we believe three months is enough. We have been receiving feedback on the platform. “We have over 100,000 users already,

Hey Guys…kindly check out our CEO in todays #dailypost publication. We are poised to do great things with political leadership and influence in Nigeria. Join the train if you will and desire to see change in Nigeria 🇳🇬 . https://lnkd.in/ds44Pwvq Myopic vision, which is not looking ahead, and expediency, which is choosing what is convenient now rather than what will yield better results tomorrow, both come with costs. A typical example is when requests are made to build factories, training institutes, etc., but after they have gotten them from development partners, the familiar pattern of mismanagement ensues. Often the training and consulting provided to local officials and operators are rendered futile as soon as they are handed over. Of course, some projects manage to survive and last as intended, proving to be useful, but these are the exceptions to the rule. Therefore, Welcome To The Future Of Democracy In Nigeria. China-Africa summit 2024: the tactics on both sides. When will African leaders learn their lessons ⁉️ African nations seek more flexible approach from Beijing to relieve crippling ‘debt distress’ Leaders of African countries will head to China this week for the ninth Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit, where they’ll meet President Xi Jinping to discuss strengthening economic relations. The relationship between China and Africa has been a largely uneven one in favour of the former. The “lack of an African strategy” has left “imbalanced terms of trade”, said Ndzendze, with China enjoying a growing trade surplus due to the unchanged terms of the trade arrangement. But China has also faced criticism for its “free flowing” funding that, despite having provided much-needed construction, has been “saddling countries with unsustainable debt” that has left them under Chinese political influence, said CNN. Countries including Ghana, Zambia and Ethiopia have suffered particular “debt distress” under Chinese financing, said the BBC. Beijing has offered little relief for countries struggling to repay it, instead simply delaying repayment to maintain its position of power. The issue of debt sustainability is likely to be a key talking point of the summit. However, there is little expectation of China becoming more flexible in provisioning debt relief for heavily burdened countries. Instead, it is likely to focus on shifting to “small yet beautiful” investments as part of its Belt and Road Initiative, targeting projects with “smaller budgets and environmental or social impact”, said CNN. Despite China’s relationship with the continent as a whole coming under the spotlight at the summit, it is often individual countries that negotiate deals with Beijing, weakening their “bargaining power”, said Theo Neethling, from the University of the Free State in South Africa, at The Conversation. Taking a stance as a bloc and being able to “unite and adopt a more coordinated approach” would strengthen each nation’s position, but a lack of unity will continue to allow China to “dictate the agenda”. Africans need to take their destiny seriously and start holding leaders accountable and responsible for their actions and decisions. We say, Welcome To The Future Of Democracy In Nigeria.
