Let’s take a moment to appreciate our esteemed followers. Thanks for the #1kmark. We appreciate and love you all. While we reassure you of our poise to entrench democracy in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. And get rid of Greedy politicians from power. So we see more investment that promotes social enterprise where technology is used to entrench democracy and bring good governance close to the people. Africans CM need to use technology to advance democracy where the people are able to hold politicians accountable and demand better governance. By rating and review politicians performance from their party manifesto. That way the people are better informed at making decisions and choices in the next elections cycle. Unfortunate moments in Nigeria 🇳🇬. With exponential inflation and cost of living with poverty and unemployment not to talk of insecurity. In our opinion the biggest problem in the country is the lack of ’Rule of Law’. The level of lawlessness in the country is staggering. In many African countries, there seems to be a tendency for people wanting things for the sake of ‘possession’, as an end in themselves, rather than to utilize them as a means to extract additional or greater benefits. I have met many African officials, businessmen and rural leaders who would say that once they receive investments and factories, everything else will take care of itself. But in order to run a factory, people need utilities, management, maintenance, skills and capacities, funding, etc. Therefore, Welcome To The Future Of Democracy In Nigeria. Impact of Trans-Atlantic slave trade in Africa. The coercive force used to manipulate labour turned the economies into monocultures, and Gareth Austin notes that under colonialism ‘African societies ceased being self-sufficient as they began to import manufactured goods and basic foodstuffs, while exporting raw materials. To this day, the perceived comparative advantages of many African economies are little more than their colonially derived specializations, even though export agriculture had begun to develop in late pre-colonial times’. African countries were decolonized, up until now, they have continuously missed opportunities and faced dilemmas regardless of how international dynamics and environment have evolved, to come to a state of ‘African paradox’. During the early nation-building period, the goal of African states was to build autonomous states, but they faced strong counterforces holding them back or even driving them backwards towards structural and psychological dependency. Namibia is killing 723 wild animals to feed people as it faces the worst drought in a century. They're getting culled from areas with "sustainable game numbers" where "the population exceeds the available grazing and water resources" to avoid human-wildlife conflict

Meanwhile in many African countries the government is increasing the price for passport processing and production. In the name of inflation and corruption. Claiming the cost of production is high. Nigeria politicians will never put its people in mind first to good governance and accountability. But will follow their own greed and corruption nature first. We have governors who go to China on tours, and what do they come back with? MoUs on debt. China will lend you $1.8 billion to build light rail. Your citizens will ride on the train, but in a place like northern Nigeria, in states like Kano or Katsina, where are the people going to? They’re not heading to industrial estates to work, to well-equipped schools, or to Modern mechanized farms. You borrow money from China to invest in trains so your citizens can ride on them to attend weddings, parties, and naming ceremonies. There are no factories to work in. So, where or how will you get returns on this investment? How will you pay back the loans? We have a leadership problem. We need to choose leaders who are competent to do the job, whether they come from our community or not. Therefore, Welcome To The Future Of Democracy In Nigeria. No passport or boarding pass to leave the US, just your face. I’ve tried beating the facial recognition software by wearing glasses and a cap but it still works. Notice how it even shows my seat number 🤯 Will we even need passports in future? The EU is following the US, and many other countries, in eliminating passport stamps. Is this the future of international travel? What are the privacy concerns when our biometric data is used like this? (PS: Do you know how I recorded these videos?)

Fundamental Lessons of Economics and Industrialization in Africa Sub-Saharan African countries are still grappling with the issue of how to tackle poverty and move up the economic ladder. For any poor country wanting to break out of its lot and join the ranks of rich nations, realizing structural, wide-ranging and continuous changes in all sectors is a necessity. Those economies that have successfully emerged in a transformative fashion were able to do so because they were progressing on multiple fronts, as was the case in many East Asian and Southeast Asian nations. South Korea pushed forward many social, educational, economic and governmental ‘reforms’ and launched industrialization and rural development in a ‘concurrent’ manner. The worst-case scenario would be where a poor country with no resources remains idle and fails to undertake any significant economic initiatives. Welcome To The Future Of Democracy In Nigeria. Federal, State, Local Gov’ts Share N1.354trn Revenue For July. A total of N1.354 trillion in revenue from the June 2024 federation account has been allocated to the federal government, states, and local government areas across Nigeria. The distribution occurred during the July 2024 Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting in Abuja, presided over by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun. According to a communiqué from FAAC, the N1.354 trillion total distributable revenue includes N142.514 billion from statutory revenue, N523.973 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), N15.692 billion from electronic money transfer levy, N472.192 billion from exchange differences, and an augmentation of N200 billion. This comes amid nationwide protests tagged #EndBadGovernance caused by widespread discontent with the policies implemented by the Bola Tinubu-led administration. Nigeria is currently contending with a record high inflation rate at 34.19 per cent in June 2024 due to the two-time devaluation of the naira and removal of petrol subsidy. The inflationary trends have raised Nigeria’s interest rates by a combined 800 basis points from 18.75 per cent last July to 26.75 per cent as the central bank continues to deploy monetary tools to restore the battered economy. Food inflation, which constitutes the largest percentage of the headline inflation, is currently 40.87. The cost of energy and transportation have skyrocketed in the last one year, making life difficult for the masses The demonstrators, driven by grievances over economic hardship, high food prices, and the removal of fuel subsidies, continue to demand changes. In a post on its X account on Tuesday, the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation listed the FG’s major support to state governments to cushion the effects of the economic hardships faced by Nigerians.
