𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞'𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬    Meet Pete 👋 our latest addition to the team! Peter joins us as a Solutions intern, and he will be sharing his top tips based on things he's learning throughout his internship here at Stable. Please join us in wishing him a warm welcome 😊   Kicking things off straight away with Tip Number One: Never Trust, Always Verify "I’ve been learning about Zero Trust Architecture, which is a security model that assumes no one can be trusted by default. Every user and device must be continuously verified to ensure they have the right permissions and aren’t acting suspiciously. This week's top tip: If your company network is using a traditional 'assumed trust' security model, it may be time to consider a more comprehensive Zero Trust approach, in order to bolster security and reduce the risk of data breaches.” #NewStarter #Welcome #OneStable #CyberAwareness

We're delighted to wish a big Croeso i Stable to Eloise Hughes! 🎉 Eloise joins us as our People Team's first intern, and in the interest of making friends in high places, has already managed to imbed herself in with the team's top-dog! 🐕 Get to know Eloise:   𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭: I come from an unusual family structure, my mum is one of six and I am one of eight. Although I come from a large family, I feel so incredibly close to each of my family members and adore them like nothing else. We’re a brilliantly bizarre family unit and I adore being a Hughes.    𝐌𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬: I enjoy playing netball and practicing yoga (my new year’s resolution is to add an inversion to my practice!), I’m a big fan of Below Deck (Mediterranean being my favourite, although most difficult to spell) and I’m currently reading I’m a fan by Sheena Patel.   𝐌𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝: I’ve spent the past two years studying economics and management studies at Cardiff University. The thing I enjoy most about my degree programme is the use of economics as a tool by which to study human behaviour. Throughout my academia and career I’ve always prioritised a people-centric focus; I’ve always enjoyed considering the individual and how I can impact their life in a positive way whether that through creating latte art on their morning coffee, creating an effective filing system which takes hassle out of their day or now providing someone with a fantastic job opportunity to consolidate their career ambitions.    𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞: I chose Stable because of the warmth that emanates through its culture. Stable creates a sweet spot by being a family-run business while partnering with the tech-giant Microsoft; it has the culture and personability of being small coupled with the adventure and opportunity associated with being big. All in all, I chose Stable because of it’s people and it’s people-focused approach which makes me feel empowered to take on this new role. #WelcomeToTheTeam #NewBeginnings #Croeso #OneStable

I had a fantastic time attending the International Cyber Expo at Olympia London! It was a great opportunity to explore the latest trends shaping the cyber security landscape, from advanced threat detection to AI-driven defences. The event offered immense value, not just through the knowledge shared but also through the numerous opportunities for networking with like-minded professionals. I had the pleasure of connecting with experts across various fields, each bringing a unique perspective on the evolving challenges in information security. These new contacts and discussions have sparked fresh ideas on how we can all stay ahead in an increasingly digital world. Looking forward to applying what I've learned and fostering these new relationships within my role at Stable.

Please join us in wishing a big 'Croeso i Stable' to Anne Bates, our newest addition to the Stable family! 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞: Security Assurance Coordinator 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝:  Originally from Hamilton near Glasgow, I have just finished 23 Years in the Royal Corps of Signals within the British Army where my husband and daughter are still serving. Whilst serving I had multiple roles ranging from teaching communications systems, working within secure storage environments, to finishing leading a team of highly technical engineers providing level 3 Support for OpCIS equipment worldwide. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞: Having joined the forces at 16 years old and served for 23 years, it was important to me that I found a similar feel of camaraderie, teamwork and a sense of family within my next chapter. I interviewed and networked with multiple companies, however, Stable instantly gave me the sense that they put their people first and are a great team to be a part of. Their offices are like a home from home and I feel part of the team already. 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: My passion is people, when part of a team I love to catch up with everyone and make sure they are ok, I will notice the small things that others may miss, I have done multiple courses in Mental Health First Aid, Diversity and Inclusion, Suicide prevention and speaking with vulnerable people. This can sometimes mean I can get caught up in conversations, however I don’t mind this and feel that talking is important. 𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞: I love sports for a nice small Scottish lady, I become a different person when competing! I have played rugby, football, hockey, Basketball and more recently Roller Derby and Alpine skiing where I have competed in GS, Slalom, Super G and Downhill. Anne, we are delighted to have you on board and looking forward to working with you!

As first timers, we would sincerely like to thank The Emergency Tech Show for the opportunity to attend this year's event and get to meet so many like-minded professionals. It was an absolute pleasure to spend two days learning from attendees and exhibitors alike. From dog robots and drones to data accessibility and risk management, the show infused all the right ingredients to facilitate 2 days of innovation, connection, brainstorming and collaboration. As a team we leave with fresh ideas and motivation to reconnect in the near future. Diolch yn fawr, we hope you enjoyed the Fabulous Welshcakes as much as we did! 😀 #EmergencyTech #Innovation #EmergencyTechShow #OneStable

I recently met with the brilliant team at Tramshed Tech where it was inspiring to learn about their new Creative Cluster programme and long-term vision to create a collaborative hub for creatives. On reflection, it was one of those meetings when I couldn't help smiling for some days afterwards! So, to be invited as a keynote speaker at the launch event tomorrow is a privilege and already, a highlight of my week. Looking forward to meeting up with colleagues (both old and new) in Goodsheds, Barry. Yn wir, edrych ymlaen.

Celebrating Our Talented Interns! As the year draws to a close, we take a moment to recognise and applaud the incredible contributions of our two outstanding interns, Jake and Steffan. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives have left an indelible mark on our organisation. Ahead of their departure, they had this to say about their time on the internship at Stable:   "As soon as I read the JD for Stable, I was drawn to the work/learning opportunities they provide and what I could potentially be doing on my year-long internship at the company. Two main projects stand out for me during my time here. First, I created a solution to automatically provision templates to a SharePoint website, and Second, I worked on Microsoft 365 configuration, which involved Entra ID configuration along with configuring Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other productivity-based products. For me, the best part about working at Stable is how welcoming everyone is, how supportive they are, and how willing everyone is to help, no matter what. Plus, the free lunch is an added bonus! I feel I’ve greatly developed my technical skills during my time here, I acquired knowledge related to Tenant Administration and Microsoft 365 configurations, power automate and power apps, Microsoft Defender, Intune, and Entra ID. Having spent the year working on real life projects at Stable I’ve realised that I enjoy working on Cloud infrastructure and will likely follow that path for my own career. My advice for future interns joining the company: Work hard and enjoy the culture and work opportunities that Stable has to offer."   "I chose Stable due to the team ethos and non-hierarchical structure of the company—it seemed like a perfect match for the way I like to work. What I love most about working here is the people. Everyone is friendly and talkative both in and out of the office. Work events are inclusive, creating a proper team environment where everyone has a good time in each other’s company. As for the work itself, I focused on software development using Microsoft Power Platform Tools. In fact, my time at Stable has opened my eyes to a potential future in software development—I hadn’t considered it before, but now I have confidence in my development abilities having worked on real-life projects. My proudest moment working at Stable was working on the CALI project, which was mentioned in the Welsh Gov Cymraeg2050 act. For any future interns, I would advise taking advantage of the fact that everyone is friendly and talkative—build relationships in the company early, and don’t ever be afraid to ask questions. Everyone will always try to help or redirect you to someone who can."   We’re immensely proud not only of Jake and Stef's achievements but also how well they've embedded themselves into the Stable family, and wish them continued success as they embark on new adventures. Let’s raise a virtual toast to these remarkable interns! 🥂 #OneStable #Internship #Future
