Three UK was founded in 2003 to challenge the mobile industry, and now covers 99% of the UK outdoor population with its combined 3G and 4G network and carries 28% of mobile data traffic in the country (Enders Analysis). Three has more spectrum exclusively dedicated to 5G than any other UK mobile network, meaning our customers will benefit from an outstanding experience when using the next generation of mobile technology. Three UK is the official sponsor of Chelsea FC men’s and women’s teams as well as Channel 4’s Gogglebox.     This week at Three UK we’ve been celebrating our second annual Sustainability Week, which this year’s focus has been all about the #circulareconomy. Throughout the week, we’ve been sharing with our people how we’re contributing to the circular economy and why it’s so important. We we’re also fortunate to hear from Chris Allen of Decathlon who shared some fascinating insights of Decathlon’s journey from a linear to circular business.     What do The Grand Tour and Emily in Paris have in common? Our customers are loving both shows!    After 8 years and 46 episodes, Clarkson, Hammond, and May took their final lap with the #GrandTour, and our network was buzzing last Friday: 🚗 On Friday at 7:30pm, Amazon Prime accounted for over 6% of total network demand - double the usual traffic for Amazon 🚀Sunday at 3:30pm saw the largest uplift in demand for Amazon Prime specifically, with a significant 67% more traffic than usual at this time 💾 Since Friday, our customers have streamed a whopping 1.2 million gigabytes of data on Amazon Prime - that's like streaming in HD for 67 years straight!   But wait, there's more! Fans of #EmilyinParis were just as excited for the release of Season 4, Part 2 on Netflix: 💙 On Thursday at 8:15pm, Netflix took 13% of our total network demand, more than double the usual, and even higher than the August launch 🌆 Sunday at 4pm, saw the biggest uplift in demand on Netflix, with usage spiking by 42% compared to typical Sunday afternoons 📊 Since Thursday, over 3.3 million gigabytes of Netflix have been streamed. That’s enough to binge-watch Emily in Paris 53,000 times in HD or 23,000 times in 4K Looks like our customers can't get enough of their favourite shows, whether they're racing cars or roaming the streets of Paris.

    The Vodafone/Three merger is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform UK digital infrastructure with £11bn of investment. Vodafone and Three UK disagree with the CMA’s Provisional Findings that their merger raises competition concerns and could lead to price rises for customers. By all measures, the merger is pro-growth, pro-customer and pro-competition. It can, and should, be approved by the CMA. This is not a final decision, and we look forward to working with the CMA to secure approval. Our CEO, Robert Finnegan, said: "The current UK 4 player mobile market is dysfunctional and lacks quality competition with 2 strong players and 2 weak players. This is reflected in the current state of the UK’s digital infrastructure that everyone agrees falls well short of what the country needs and deserves. We are determined to reassure the CMA in relation to their provisional concerns and work with them to secure the extensive benefits this merger brings for UK customers, businesses and wider society.”

    On Saturday, 14 of our people took part in the Reading Pride march. We were proud to have a position right near the front of the march, giving us a great opportunity to remind our people and customers of our commitment to equality. Our people had an amazing time, a big thank you to all those who helped organise such a fantastic day.🌈

    Seven in ten children aged 9-13 say they have been exposed to harmful experiences or content online. This includes being contacted by strangers, coming across hate speech or misinformation, and seeing violent content. These children are going back to school this week, many of whom will be making the leap to secondary school or getting their first smartphone - leaving them increasingly vulnerable to online risks.
