Ethan played professional rugby for 14 years at Northampton Saints and Worcester Warriors. He’s been working a day a week at Telford Mann since February and made the full time transition in July after retiring from rugby. The Open Championship is the oldest of the four golf majors and this year’s at Royal Troon on the Ayrshire coast will provide a tough test for all competitors. After qualifying, Mansell commented ‘I am really excited to be playing in The Open Championship. Qualifying on a links course like Renaissance gives me great confidence going into the week at Royal Troon. I’d also like to thank the Titan Wealth team for their support this year’. Most investors in a sustainability-labelled investment product would naturally expect there to be some exposure to the end products of the decarbonization supply chain, namely things like wind turbines. Fewer investors would expect there to be exposure to the picks and shovels of this supply chain, for example steel manufacturers. Fewer still would expect there to be any exposure to the companies mining the raw materials required to produce the steel that is required to build the wind turbines. This is mostly because these less visible parts of the supply chain have struggled with a variety of environmental and social challenges for many years. However, perfection should not be the enemy of progress. Since the decarbonization of our energy system is not possible without the full supply chain, it is crucial to learn as much about these challenges as we can in order to more fully understand the sustainability risks and opportunities of decarbonization. I'll be moderating a panel about this important topic at Reset Connect for London Climate Action Week. We are thrilled to announce the publication of our final research report for the 2023/24 academic year! 🏆 This time, our four research teams partnered with Titan Asset Management to analyse the mining industry's crucial role in the global transition to a low-carbon economy. We developed four distinct sustainable investment portfolios, considering the challenges and opportunities within the supply chain of various metals. Our research teams evaluated market demand, environmental and social challenges, opportunities in the supply chain, and geographical and political risks to construct sustainable investment portfolios. Here are the highlights of their findings: • Team 1: Focused on copper, lithium, nickel, and graphite as core holdings (70-80%) with other metals in strategic holdings (20-30%). • Team 2: Included uranium, lithium, cobalt, and gold. • Team 3: Emphasized copper, lithium, and nickel as core holdings (55-70%) with other metals in diversified holdings (30-40%). • Team 4: Calculated weighted scores for different metals, including copper, aluminum, steel, nickel, and others. This marks our second collaboration with Titan Asset Management and James Peel, CFA this year. A heartfelt thank you to James for your invaluable guidance and support throughout the research process, and to all your colleagues involved. This collaboration provided our teams with a fantastic opportunity to delve into the mining industry and apply practical investment portfolio construction techniques.
