So we are nearly at the end of the festival season, I am not sure we've had a summer yet but it seems we have worked harder than ever this year Just a few pics of our year to date

Today marks a little victory for Titan Risk Management Several years ago we employed a staff member who initially seemed to be a genuine person, with a great work ethic. a Portuguese national with great English I will refer to him as 'Joao' but that's not his real name One weekend another member of staff reported that he had been "charged" £10 to be dropped off after work in the company minibus driven by Joao? we arranged to interview Joao who turned up at the office threw his uniform at us uttered profanities then resigned and left. we thought that was the end of it. several months later we receive contact from Joao who informed us that he was suing titan for £150k for un lawful dismissal, race discrimination, disability discrimination and every other possible crime possible under employment law. we took advice and sadly because the way UK employment law works it meant it would cost Titan a significant fee to challenge Joao and our solicitor advised us to reach a compromise .... this didn't sit well with me ..... I hade discrimination and we pride ourselves in providing a safe inclusive workplace for all I authorised our team to fight the charges and we went to tribunal firstly Joao suddenly couldn't speak English and required translators which lengthened the case significantly I have had several long conversations in the past and apart from a feint Portuguese accent his English was as good as mine but we let this pass and a long tribal started and eventually his claims were laughed out of court..... he appealed.... more cost, more lies and he lost again the process cost Titan Over £20K but we won and he was proved to be a fraudulent liar of the worst kind I then instructed our team to sue for costs which also went in our favour granted not the £20k it cost to fight but an amount that would significantly inconvenience Joao, he fought it again and lost again. Today his first payment was received, I know this would have driven him mad and i can't help but crack a little triumphant grin I would do this again in a heartbeat, this wasn't his first time in a tribunal, he had history this before for exactly the same thing if we had caved we would have left to open for others to lie and cheat their way to a fast pay cheque at our expense why is the system set up to allow spurious claims like this and why should it cost an innocent party so much to fight?
