Long before the sun came up on Wednesday morning, some of the Tobacco Dock team braved an early alarm to head down to the Whitechapel Mission to take part in their Breakfast Challenge, cooking and serving +300 meals. It was an incredible experience and they put smiles on plenty of people’s faces, including their own! Highlights of the day: 🤍 Chelsey Hulbert being allowed to ring the bell to announce breakfast was open!  🤍 Christopher Galbraith serving up 700 eggs in 2 hours 🤍 Alice B. frying over 700 hash browns (and then smelling like them 😉) 🤍 Hannah Bradshaw’s singing performance with the mop during clean-down  🤍 Lucy Turner taking a quick chocolate break (or 2…) 🤍 Marcus Phillips – our fantastic team leader who really got the short straw in washing up EVERYTHING 🤍 Emma Brown mastering the new technique of buttering bread with a spoon?! 🤍 Kirsty West dropping Chris’ perfect eggs on the floor (sorry) The Whitechapel Mission has been serving the homeless and marginalised since 1876 – including a day centre, skills training and career advice, activity programmes and specialist support for complex needs.
