London, we’re turning the Tube map into the ultimate boardgame!🏆🚇 Forget Wordle, forget Duolingo streaks (though I am hooked with a 1052 day streak..) – the real daily challenge is now on the Underground. We've partnered with Transport for London to bring Londoners the ‘Google Pay Tube Challenge’ – a whole new way to experience the Underground and Elizabeth Line! From March 31st until April 30th, every Challenge entrant (using Google Pay) who will tap into the Underground and Elizabeth Line will unlock a digital station badge, some Tube trivia (such as Maida Vale being staffed entirely by women when it opened on June 6, 1915!), and an entry into a weekly raffle to win goodies - like Santander Cycle day passes or even a Google Pixel 9. A fun way to make our journeys a little more interesting and celebrate the network that keeps London buzzing…. So, here is what I found out about Tottenham Court Road when I tapped out today on my way to our Google Central Saint Giles office… Tottenham Court Road station opened in 1900 as one of the original stations on the Central London Railway. Between 1982 and 1986, Scottish artist Eduardo Paolozzi created a series of tile mosaics for Tottenham Court Road station, drawing inspiration from and depicting the local area. Game on and good luck! 🍀
