It's not just Craig David that's walking away... In our recent survey of 1,237 tech professionals, 68% said they'd consider walking away from a job opportunity if faced with three or more interview stages. It shows many candidates are losing patience with lengthy hiring processes. This sentiment is echoed in broader findings, such as those from Aptitude Research showing 82% of recruiters have lost candidates due to inefficient interviewing practices. Additionally, the 2024 Talent Trends Report by SHRM points out the necessity of streamlining interviews to improve both hiring speed and quality. These insights suggest the importance of fluid interview processes, not only to keep candidates interested but also to secure top talent efficiently and not lose them to competition.

What really drives business success? Is it the culture within, or the strategy we deploy? In a poll we conducted, involving 180 tech specialists, the results were intriguingly balanced: 59% voted for culture as the key driver, while 41% sided with strategy. But what if the secret to success is not an 'either/or' but a 'both/and'? Drawing from the Techspace Scaleup Culture Report 2024 created with Sapio Research, one key insight is that companies that actively integrate their strategic goals with their cultural practices tend to perform better. The report indicates that businesses that align their operational strategies with the expectations and values of their workforce not only enhance employee satisfaction but also drive greater productivity and innovation. It's clear that harmonising our internal culture with external technological and strategic adaptations might just be the blueprint for enduring success.

A busy week at TRIA towers... 🔸 The scaffolding is coming down so we can once again say we have the best view in Bristol (when it’s not raining). 🔸 We’ve welcomed two new starters, Charlotte and Connor, to the team. 🔸 8 team members are on their way to Lunch Club at Pasta Ripiena for an amazing quarterly performance. 🔸 We’ve entered into 3 new exclusive client partnerships that we can’t wait to get stuck into. 🔸 Jack and Hollie are taking full advantage of our work-from-anywhere perk, living their best lives in Morocco and Turkey. And Founder, David Kirkpatrick, being a man of many talents and never afraid to get his hands dirty, broke out his toolbox and finally fixed the wobbly kitchen stools. With the week coming to a close, we want to wish all our team, clients, contractors and candidates a pleasant weekend.

We had the privilege of volunteering with our charity partner, The Nelson Trust, where former chef and current consultant Matt Woodgate, along with trusted sous chef Liz Forsyth, headed to the community kitchen to prepare a delicious Massaman curry. While Matt and Liz did an incredible job, the true stars of the day were still the team at Nelson Trust. As a centre of excellence, they bring belief, hope, and long-term recovery to individuals across the UK affected by addiction and multiple disadvantages. If you’re an organisation in the South West and would like to support this amazing charity through events or fundraising, please reach out. We’d be happy to introduce you or work together to support them in their vital work.

Culture eats strategy for breakfast. This well-known phrase is often credited to Peter Drucker, but surprisingly, he never said it. Who did? We don't know either, but there are a few frontrunners. While the origin of the quote may be uncertain, it remains a question leaders still discuss at actual breakfasts (and other meals probably).
