Despite progress, the latest report from the GSMA has revealed a massive gap remains for mobile internet access, fuelled by unaffordability of devices such as smartphones - especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).    Around 39% of the world's population is within the footprint of a mobile broadband network but is not using it, and affordability is the number one reason in both rural and urban communities. This digital divide harms communities by limiting access to essential education, healthcare, economic opportunities and more.    One significant intervention to close this gap is device financing, which makes smartphones more accessible by breaking down the high upfront costs into manageable payments. Device-locking technology, like that provided by Trustonic, is a crucial enabler of this financing. To mark European Mobility Challenge Week,, our Sophia based Secure Platform team participated in a challenge to find a more sustainable mode of commuting to the office. As part of this challenge, Trustonic pledged €1 for each KM traveled more sustainably to one of our amazing charities, Les Restos du Coeur.    Over one week, the team achieved a 77% more sustainable commute, raised an impressive €830 for charity, and topped the leaderboard. An excellent achievement for a great cause! Andrew Till, General Manager for Trustonic, said: “Proud to win and make such achievement and donate to such a great charity.
