Is there a better way to celebrate having new HNC trainees than a field trip? 💭 We definitely don't think so! 👀 Every year, our 1st Year HNC trainees have the opportunity to visit Ednie Wind Farms with our lecturer, Matthew Laskaj CEng FIMechE, during their Communications unit. The visit provides insight to the workings of an operational wind farm and this year, the class were able to meet the maintenance team from ENERCON. Did you know that it is World Mental Health Day? 🌈 The World Federation of Mental Health selected 'Workplace Mental Health' as this year's theme to highlight the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. At Tullos Training, we have Mental Health First Aiders available to provide non-judgemental support and resources for our staff and apprentices if they are facing mental health issues. We are delighted to announce we are increasing the funding available to help temporary workers in the engineering construction industry, verify their base level of technical competence as part of the Connected Competence scheme. This year, we have allocated £130K to support temporary workers in completing the required technical tests. A further £120K has just been committed to testing vouchers in the drive to forge a safe, skilled and agile workforce. The additional funding will enable the programme to reach critical mass, ensuring the industry has the competent, safe and adaptable workforce it requires, particularly with the demands of emerging net zero projects and ongoing skills shortages. This is an important step in improving workforce competence and safety across the sector.
