Working for Derwent London, dMFK Architects has transformed a former 1960s medical laboratory into a contemporary office space in Fitzrovia, London. The studio was commissioned to create an interior that was in keeping with the building's heritage while providing flexible co-working essentials, from focus booths to breakout areas. The spacious office is accessed via the building's meticulously restored concrete staircase and features bespoke smoked oak joinery. The open-plan office provides a series of versatile, adaptable areas while maintaining a cohesive design language, featuring a mix of contemporary and vintage furniture and lighting evocative of the mid-century era.
