A long time in the making! Very pleased to have won ‘Gold’ in the ‘Best Exterior Design’ category of the WhatHouse? Awards last week, which honours the best in housebuilding We first sat with Barratt London in early 2016, looking at how to transform and uplift the site of the Former Nestle Factory. Our 2018 consent was a collaborative effort with Hawkins\Brown and Makower Architects to create 1400 new homes, which in turn was a collaboration with SEGRO plc and Michael Sparks Associates delivering some 230,000 sqft of commercial floorspace, including a huge netflix warehouse. We had complete design and delivery responsibility for our cluster, contributing 450 homes and transforming the derelict factory site into a bustling, welcoming and friendly community. Our final piece of the puzzle - the Former Canteen hall - will become a much needed medical centre, nursery, and cafe. Brewers' Hall is a winner in the Civic Trust Awards 2025. Our retrofit of the post-war Livery Hall has introduced a three-storey extension, significantly enhanced the building's operational efficiency and secured the building's future for years to come. Surrounded by a sea of new construction, we're proud to have helped protect this important part of the City of London's history. The building's three-storey extension houses bright, accessible workspace that is leased out to support the Worshipful Company of Brewer's charitable foundations. #BTS: admiring the beautiful view from our in-progress commercial project for GPE; we're a little jealous of the future tenants! Our design transforms two Grade II listed buildings in the heart of St James's into 55,000 sqft of high-end flexible workspace, lounge areas, extensive landscaped terrace and luxurious end-of-journey facilities. Completion is scheduled for later in the year. We can't wait to share the final result! dMFK design team: Joanna Ball Alice Chilangwa Farmer Ben Knight Zena Gerrard Jake Williams-Deoraj Contractor: 8build Grace Silverman #retrofit #piccadillyestate #heritage #workspace #architecture

What an exciting year. dMFK is thrilled to have won Design Studio of the Year in the Mix Awards and Office Architect of the Year in the Building Design Awards, as well as delivering a series of successful project completions, planning submissions and outreach initiatives. Thank you to all of our clients, collaborators and friends for your support. We look forward to continuing to champion design as the primary differentiator in the real estate market in 2025. Here’s a selection of moments we’ve enjoyed this year: ⭐ Voysey House: nearly a century after leaving, Voysey House’s original commissioners returned to the Grade II* listed former wallpaper factory in Chiswick - a moment of '360-degree cultural completeness', as described by the AJ Architecture Award judges. ⭐ Chancery House: our sector-redefining workplace retrofit for The Office Group / Fora picked up a number of accolades, including awards from Dezeen, Architects’ Journal and Mix. ⭐ Old Hampstead Police Station: our ambitious proposals to convert the Grade II listed former police station into a mixed-use scheme were given the green light by Camden Council. ⭐ Former Nestle Factory: our 400-home regeneration for Barratt London won 'Gold' in the WhatHouse? Awards. The judges described the project as a 'masterclass in blending heritage and modernity'. ⭐ Educational Outreach: we want everyone to have a chance to shape the built environment, so we've invested in delivering more work experience placements, career insight days, apprenticeships and student portfolio reviews. ⭐ MYO New Street Square: we completed a transformative refurbishment of 3 New Street Square to deliver an amenity-rich offering for Landsec’s innovative flexible workspace product, MYO ⭐ 45 Whitfield Street: our reimagination of 1970s office building 45 Whitfield Street for Derwent London successfully launched and quickly became fully let. It was also a finalist in four prestigious design awards. ⭐ Storey at 201 Bishopsgate: we transformed the seventh floor of the iconic 201 Bishopsgate building into 35,500 sqft of amenity-rich office space for Storey, British Land’s flexible workspace brand.

Our design for Kentish Town Square introduces a landmark corner building delivering 14 homes and 1,000 sqft of commercial space on a complex triangular site close to the station. Proposals seek to resolve tricky townscape issues and physical constraints. The new building steps in plan and elevation, rising to a clearly marked corner on Highgate Road. Architecturally, it finds its roots in other local buildings such as The Assembly House, The Bull and Gate, and 1 Highgate Road gently marking floor edges and vertical junctions. We are planning to start work on-site in 2025. dMFK design team: Jonny Wong Matt Lee Julian de Metz Client: Murphy Structural Engineer: Price & Myers Planning: Savills MEP: Mark Robinson #kentishtown #kentishtownsquare #newhomes #design #londonhomes #architecture
