💡 A Week of Collaboration and Learning 🤝 🌐 This week, I had the privilege of chaperoning Accreditation Managers Fahad Alanazi and Abdulaziz Alghamdi from the Saudi Accreditation Centre (SAAC) on a study visit to a UKAS accredited Inspection Body – my second oppurtunity to take part in such a visit. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the partnership between UKAS and Saudi Accreditation Center, as well as provide a unique shared learning opportunity for all parties involved. 🌟 A huge thank you to DNV for their warm hospitality and for hosting the visit. In addition to our guests gaining valuable insights, I also appreciated the opportunity to observe an inspection assessment in a technical area that was entirely new to me. ✅ Special thanks also to the assessment team – Charles, Eddie, and Ron – for taking the time to walk us through the process and answer all our questions. 🌍 It was a fantastic couple of days, filled with valuable insights and engaging discussions. I look forward to the continued growth of this partnership and future opportunities for collaboration. #Accreditation #Learning #Collaboration #Inspection #UKAS #SAAC #DNV #ProfessionalDevelopment

While closely related, the terms "accreditation" and "certification" are distinct steps on the quality assurance ladder, and should not be used interchangeably as there are important differences between the two activities. #Certification is an audit of whether an organisation, a product or an individual conforms to criteria laid out in a recognised standard or a scheme. Where as... #Accreditation performs an oversight role that underpins the quality, impartiality and competence of a conformity assessment body and its processes.
