In 2009, the Council published its Recommendation on Seasonal Influenza Vaccination calling for 75% uptake. Since then, Europe has gone through a pandemic caused by another respiratory virus - #COVID19 – and a surge in the public health burden of #RSV. The Steering Group on Influenza Vaccination commends the initiatives outlined in the Council Conclusions on the Future of the #EuropeanHealthUnion. To fully achieve these ambitions, we are calling for: ✅ Promotion of #immunisation as a primary prevention tool in communicable and non-communicable diseases at all stages of life. ✅Increased effort in combating mis & dis-information ✅Investment in specialised health workforce training ✅Increased development of innovative digital tools & uptake of digital health literacy for both HCPs and patients ✅Recognition of the role of respiratory infection prevention through vaccination in performance-based antimicrobial stewardship
