82 seconds of mindblowing BLACK history in spoken word from Big Scoop Thompson 🎙️ How many legends did you recognise from the vidseo. This Black History Month, let's go beyond the limited narratives and delve deeper into the rich tapestry of Black British history. Big Scoop's powerful poem, "Straight Out the Facts Machine," urges us to reclaim the narrative and acknowledge the pivotal role Black people have played in shaping the UK. From the Cheddar Man, the oldest intact skeleton found in Britain, to Roman emperors like Septimius Severus, Black history is woven into the very fabric of the nation. Let's celebrate these often-overlooked contributions and acknowledge the diverse heritage that makes Britain what it is today. How can we ensure that Black history is accurately represented and celebrated in mainstream education and media? Share your thoughts in the comments! Listen to Big Scoop's full poem and join the conversation on LinkedIn. Let's celebrate Black History Month by amplifying Black voices and reclaiming the narrative of Black British history. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackBritishHistory #HiddenHistory #Diversity #Inclusion #RepresentationMatters #Poetry #SpokenWord #BigScoop #VantaSTEM #ReclaimingNarratives Ali Saad Big Scoop Thompson

About us
Welcome to Vanta STEM. Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve excellence in STEM, beyond the limitations of racial and social inequity. Vanta STEM is run by Clive and Ali. We are long term friends, colleagues, mentors and business owners with over 20 years combined experience in industry within the Chemical Sciences. In that time, we have often been the only Black person in our teams/departments... sometimes even in the entire company! Yet, we have successfully navigated the landscape of being a minority in the STEM corporate environment. As thought leaders in our field, we seek to be a hub for the underrepresented; connecting you to our network whilst simultaneously providing the tools and skills to accelerate your career in STEM. Hats off to the Royal Society of Chemistry for taking action after discovering the imbalance in representation 🎓 Helen Pain MBE CChem FRSC recalls how the story of an RSC affiliate, Robert Mokaya, changed her perspective. 🙌🏾 Our first podcast episode was with Robert, and we had discovered that he had NEVER been rewarded research funding, even whilst being at the height of his academic career and someone who was certainly due funding 🤯 the reason? what do you think? Things are changing, as Robert has now been elected as future president of the RSC (The first identifying Black person to hold this honour!) 👊🏾👏🏾 Testimonials can be powerful and should never be ignored. Only by listening and taking action can we make positive change ✨️ 💯 We found this episode incredibly inspirational and recommend you check the full episode below!! 👇🏾 #STEMinism #Equity #Testimonials #RaceRepresentation #PositiveChange #BlackInSTEM
