About us
Virgin Unite is the entrepreneurial foundation of the Virgin Group and the Branson family. We started Virgin Unite with the aim of bringing people together to encourage them never to accept the unacceptable, to turn challenges into opportunities and to always push boundaries that make both business and the world better. Our goal is to unite people and entrepreneurial ideas to create opportunities for a better world. There are so many challenges facing the world today, but we believe that by bringing the right people together and taking an entrepreneurial approach, we can create positive change. We also incubate new, independent approaches to leadership including the Elders, the Carbon War Room, the B Team, Ocean Unite and the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship. Our overheads are covered by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of all donations received go directly to initiatives we create or support. Join us at www.virginunite.com, follow us @virginunite on Twitter and Instagram and like us at facebook/virginunite.

The brilliant human rights lawyer, Bryan Stevenson, once said: “The question is not so much whether someone deserves to die, but whether we deserve to kill.” On today’s #WorldDayAgainstTheDeathPenalty, Richard Branson can think of countless reasons why we should all stand up against this inhuman and brutal form of punishment. It’s time to abolish the death penalty for good: https://virg.in/3NmrVse

Virgin Unite is so proud to support Superhumans Center and the incredible work they do. Their state-of-the-art rehabilitation centres are giving adults and children affected by war the chance of a better life.
The Superhumans team, thanks to the support of our great friend Sir Richard Branson and founding CEO and President of Virgin Unite and Superhumans Ambassador, Jean Oelwang, hosted a charity dinner in New York. The event was attended by more than 30 friends of Ukraine who sincerely support our independence, and every Ukrainian affected by the war. The event's guests included Former President of Costa Rica, Jose Maria Figueres, Superhumans’ ambassador, Natalie Jaresko, retired four-star general who served 38 years in the United States Army, Gen. Wesley Clark, and leaders the business and charitable world. During the evening, we talked a lot about Superhumans, the results of our work for almost two years, about our plans for the near future (new centres in Dnipro and Odesa). Together we discussed the importance of reintegration and education of veterans, and about everything we are doing this. And, of course, many stories of our 'supers' were told. After all, this is what motivates us every day and inspires our friends and partners the most. Veteran and our colleague, Ruslana Danilkina shared her story and the stories of other 'supers' with the guests. These are people who create the history of Ukraine, who, despite serious injuries, found the strength to live a full life again. It is for them that we created Superhumans and work for them. Many thanks to Sir Richard Branson, Jean Oelwang and the entire team at Virgin Unite for the opportunity to gather everyone in one room and organise this event together. To the Ukrainian production team - photographers Tonia Trushko, Inna Letka and videographer Dmytro Bondarenko for media support. Daria Kolomoets for the musical mood of the evening. Together - we are building the country of Superhumans! Olga Rudnieva Andrey Stavnitser Philipp Grushko

The Planetary Guardians have sounded the alarm that 6 out of 9 planetary boundaries have been breached. Hope remains, but only if action is swiftly taken. Johan Rockström and the Planetary Guardians discussed the fundamental question of the legacy we leave at the launch of the first-ever annual Planetary Health Check. The new Planetary Health Check combines ground-breaking science and Indigenous wisdom to protect Earth’s vital systems. With 6 boundaries already breached, we must act now to restore balance. By uniting science, policy, and traditional knowledge, we can still safeguard our future. Let’s reverse this trend together: https://virg.in/3XAp979 #BeaPlanetaryGuardian #PlanetaryBoundaries, #whichlegacy

Virgin Unite is proud to support Children's Ground and the incredible work it does to help children living with injustice and disadvantage. Children’s Ground recently convened 'Utyerre Apanpe' - the first ever National First Nations Educators Network. It brought together more than 90 First Nations educators - all working together for national reform in First Nations education. Communities want real educational reform and Children's Ground want to re-establish systems of education - and for those to be recognised and supported across the country. They want to lead their own system of education - a national First Nations Education system. “Education is healing. It is a place that we want our children to feel valued, loved and safe in their spirit. Where their knowledge will grow. We want quality education provided to all of our children and young people, on their country and homelands, in a way that recognises and protects their culture and identity.” – Utyerre Apanpe First Nations Education Network, 2024. Well done to all involved. Please read their full statement to government here: https://lnkd.in/gXwG_bCi
