Our local members in #Prague had a great event yesterday afternoon thanks to a very insightful presentation on #boardsofdirectors and how they work with #venturecapital investors given by guest speaker David Frodsham. This turned out to be a very engaging event with participation by roughly a dozen of our members; joining both in-person and online. We want to give special #thanks to our VAB regional chair for Central & Eastern Europe, Mike Stenson, for coordinating the event. And to David for his great presentation and discussion. He will address the challenges currently facing #venturecapital in #Europe. At present, average returns are falling short of expectations and, in some sectors, limited capital deployment is being seen. However, there might be a promising outlook for Central Europe, especially the Czech Republic, where the ecosystem is evolving, and exiting entrepreneurs are reinvesting their earnings. David will also explore the relationship between venture capitalists and #boardofdirectors; particularly, how the perceived loss of control by boards can pose a barrier to securing investment.
