  • To get to the heart of offending and criminality, partner agencies all play their part to really make a difference and create a Safer Warwickshire for All. While the plan holds the Chief Constable to account for how the force will deliver aspects of this, it will also be used to bring partners together with a focussed vision to achieve collaboratively. There is already brilliant partnership working taking place across the county around issues including tackling abuse and exploitation, reducing violent crime and responding to serious organised crime. Yet there is always more to be done. Local authorities, health, criminal justice and our third sector organisations will work closely alongside police and the OPCC to protect communities, safeguard people and strengthen policing.

  • While navigating the justice system, victims need to be listened to. They must be informed, supported and respected during the difficult and stressful times they face. As part of a Safer Warwickshire for All, high quality investigations that leads to bringing more offenders to justice is essential for maintaining confidence of victims and the wider public. To support the delivery of this, the Police and Crime Commissioner has laid out plans to: o Work with all criminal justice partners to ensure victims get clear and accessible information about their rights and how to access support o Improve referral pathways between police and specialist services who can offer this support o Seek feedback from victims to identify areas for continuous improvement o Support the use of Restorative Justice to give victims a voice o Advocate for Out of Court Resolutions so victims receive timely justice, when appropriate Alongside this will be the commissioning of services who work with victims and survivors to ensure they feel valued and supported. • Time being spent on core policing duties is what the public expects from the force and is why officers and staff join in the first instance. A workforce who are supported to serve local communities through improved technology, equipment and training provides greater efficiencies to allow this to happen. It also means the public get to see even more of the great work that is taking place every day across the force. This is why increasing effectiveness within policing is one of the priorities for a Safer Warwickshire for All. The Police and Crime Commissioner is committed to: • Working with partners so those in need receive the right support from the most appropriate agency, protecting officers from being called elsewhere • Support the wellbeing of officers and staff, so they can manage the challenges that come with their roles effectively • Investing in technology to automate routine tasks, improve productivity, and support complex investigations Whilst holding the Chief Constable to account for maximising productivity and ensuring the investments made improve services to benefit officers and the public. • Warwickshire’s policing priorities for the next four years have been set out in a new Police and Crime Plan, launched today by Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe. Titled ‘A Safer Warwickshire for All’, the 2025-29 strategy outlines a comprehensive vision for crime prevention, community safety, and law enforcement across the county. Developed following extensive public and partner consultation, the plan sets out key commitments to strengthen policing, safeguard people, and protect communities. It also ensures Warwickshire Police continues to be effective, accountable, and responsive to the needs of local residents. Across each of these is a commitment to ensure victims are heard, crime is prevented, communities feel empowered, partners work together effectively, and money is spent wisely to benefit residents. • There's still time to give your feedback on options for funding policing in Warwickshire over the next financial year, which includes the amount each household will pay through Council Tax (known as the Police Precept). Our simple survey takes only a few minutes to complete and the information gained will help the Commissioner to make a decision on the Police Precept when he proposes his budget in early February. Serving communities to make a positive difference

Our annual grants are awarded to projects that are making a difference locally to both individuals and communities in line with our Police and Crime Plan. Today I visited Futures Unlocked- their project is bridging the gap between prison and the community and ensuring that people are given every opportunity to break the cycle of offending. With prison populations growing these organisations are crucial to stop the revolving door. Thank you for sharing some very personal stories today.
