💡 Do you manage or participate in paying individuals for their involvement? 💡 Our latest Learning Lunch recording is now live! We looked at paying participants from different perspectives, including: ✅ The benefits and risks of offering payments ✅ Creative alternatives to financial payment ✅ Practical tips for setting up payment processes Whether you’re planning new involvement initiatives or re-evaluating your organisation’s payment policies, this session is packed with valuable insights to guide you. 👉 Watch the recording below (if you don’t see the video right away, just click the register button to access.) #Involvement #Engagement #CoProduction #Payments
The second in August's series of Learning Lunches is about paying participants for involvement. You can find out more and sign up using the link below. There are lots of view on paying participants, ranging from 'it's insulting' to 'it's essential'. We fall more towards the 'it's essential' end of the range, but think it's more complex (and so interesting) than that. How we recognise people's input is part of demonstrating how we value them, so it can be an emotional area to work through. A one-size-fits-all policy is unlikely to meet most organisation's aims as it covers different roles requiring different skills from people with different needs. To help you find your own way through, we'll explore: * Whether we need to pay people * Different models for financial payment * Alternatives and additions to financial reward #CoProduction #ProfessionalDevelopment #PublicServices

To develop truly inclusive involvement that reaches beyond the people we're good at engaging with, we need to develop trust with those who have been excluded. While many things contribute to this trust, an often overlooked one is the message conveyed by our choice of involvement methods. By asking people to do more than just tick boxes, and inviting them to bring their knowledge and creativity, we demonstrate that we see the whole person behind labels like 'patient', 'carer', or 'tenant'. Watch the clip below for me explaining a bit more. You can watch the full webinar - "Patient leaders and the ‘usual suspects’: who do we need to hear from most?" - for free on our Learning Lunches page https://lnkd.in/eUjBWB3J There is such thing as a free lunch! #InclusiveInvolvement #BuildingTrust #EngagementMethods
When you're involving people and communities in your work, the involvement methods you choose send a message to participants about how much you value their experience and ideas. 🎥 Watch a short clip of Danny Sherwood from last week's Learning Lunch to learn more. 📺 Catch the full presentation and explore upcoming events on our Learning Lunch page: https://lnkd.in/eUjBWB3J Our next free Learning lunch is at 12.30 on Thursday 15th, on the subject "Paying participants for involvement – what differences can it make?". #CommunityEngagement #InvolvementMatters #CoProduction
