This Bonfire Night, let's not forget that for some veterans, fireworks can evoke a range of challenging emotions and memories. 🎆 At WithYou, we're proud to support veterans who struggle with the lasting effects of trauma, especially during this time of year. Understanding the emotional response that fireworks can evoke in those who’ve served is the first step in creating a more supportive community. #VeteranSupport #BonfireNight

Chief Officer at Recovery Coaching Scotland and Borders in Recovery, delivering Recovery Coaching and Trauma Training across Scottish Prisons and developing Recovery Communities.

🌟 A Journey of Recovery 🌟 Reflecting on my journey fills me with immense gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose. I started as someone deeply in need of support, relying on the services of WithYou as I took my first steps into recovery. Addiction had taken so much, and I was desperate for change, ready to rebuild my life. I worked hard to reclaim myself, one day at a time, and with every step, I found strength I didn’t know I had. As I progressed, I felt the need to give back to the community that had helped me. I became a volunteer, wanting to be there for others who, like me, were struggling to see the light. Through this role, I gained more than just experience; I found a purpose and a calling to support others in their recovery journeys. My time as a volunteer turned into a position as an employee, where I developed my skills, took on new challenges, and continued to grow alongside the amazing teams and people within the organisation. Now, to be working as a business partner with With You feels like coming full circle, yet it's only the beginning of what we can achieve together. This role is an opportunity to create pathways for others, to offer peer support, and to build spaces where recovery and growth can flourish. My hope is that others see in my journey what’s possible through resilience, support, and the power of community. To everyone who has been a part of this journey with me, thank you. To those still in the trenches of recovery, I see you. You are not alone. If you’re struggling, reach out. Recovery is real, and it’s possible. #RecoveryJourney #WithYou #PeerSupport #AddictionRecovery #Gratitude #RecoveryIsPossible

🔍 Our recent poll revealed that over 40% of respondents hesitated to discuss drugs with the young people in their life, fearing it might "put ideas in their heads." Now, we’d like to hear from you: Did your parents, relatives or carers ever bring up the topic of drugs? If so, what was that conversation like for you? What do you think they did well and what do you wish they did differently? 💬
