💫 Be in that top 1%. Go against the odds and put in more effort than you think you’ll get in return. If you work in sales or recruitment, you already know—this is our life most of the time! 🤣
There’s been so much talk about the market being tough out there. It starts to rub off on you, and before you know it, you’re doubting yourself, questioning everything, and maybe even wondering if you’re still good at your job. 💙😰
But let me tell you when you block out the negativity and decide to do your best—regardless of the outcome—you’re already winning. Taking a risk, putting yourself out there, that’s where the magic happens.
A few weeks ago, I took on a new role in the US. I was late to the process, and they already had 6 candidates from another agency lined up. I was totally bought into the company, the hiring manager, and the product. I knew I could sell it, but I did wonder, was it worth the effort? Honestly, I didn’t think twice. I dove in because I wanted to help and was excited to be back in the game.
In the end, I sent 6 stellar candidates, all made it to the final stages, and one of them got the job! 🥇 They accepted and were over the moon! 🙌💃 To top it off, my candidates did so well that the client may even create a second role.
I could’ve walked away at the start, and my self-doubt convinced me the odds weren’t in my favor. But I fought hard, ensured my candidates had an amazing experience, and sent only the best to my client. I’m so glad I did. Believe in yourself—nothing is won until it’s won. Lesson learned: maybe I am not too bad at my job after all!
When elite runners line up for the 100 meters and see 6 other athletes beside them, do they walk away? No—they buckle down and run.
Always choose to take part and give 100%. As we’ve heard before, you’ll always fail if you give up.
If you’re finding it hard to stay competitive in the race for a new role in Sales or Customer Success, reach out to me or my incredible team of superstars.
