42% of business leaders say that engaging their staff is the biggest hurdle to implementing their sustainability strategies, which is why 83% are prioritising staff engagement this year. These statistics from edie's Sustainable Business Tracker survey highlight why events like BusinessGreen’s Net Zero Festival are crucial for helping business leaders clue up their colleagues on all things climate. At the festival, a panel discussion hosted by The Carbon Literacy Project’s Community Officer, Annie (Anne-Marie) Soulsby The Sustainable Life Coach, featured our founder and MD, Malin Cunningham, alongside Ecosurety’s Steph Housty and Auto Trader UK’s James Standing. Together, they explored how Carbon Literacy helps organisations engage employees in the journey towards ‘net zero,’ encouraging meaningful interactions across teams to drive real, widespread change. As Malin summarised, the certification enables teams to “move beyond fancy plans and turn them into real, transparent actions that strengthen reputation and drive brand integrity" - a win not just for people, but for the planet. A big thank you to the event organisers and all the other panelists whose insights are making such a significant impact! #NetZero #NetZeroFestival

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending BusinessGreen's Net Zero Festival 2024. 🌿 Bringing together businesses, investors, policymakers, and campaigners from far and wide we were proud to showcase the impact of a Carbon Literate workforce. 💫 We enjoyed engaging with a range of visitors interested in our work 👥, and getting the opportunity to participate in interviews, panels and much more! Our panel discussion, 'The Ballad Of The Untrained Firefighter' was a major success. 🤩 Our Communities Coordinator Annie (Anne-Marie) Soulsby The Sustainable Life Coach led the discussion alongside panelists Malin Cunningham, Steph Housty and James Standing, providing inspiring insights into the power of collective efforts 🚀to drive climate action in the workplace. We were also delighted to hear from Steph Housty about how "Carbon Literacy demonstrates that you’re not just talking the talk. It proves that you’re actively making change!”.💡 👉💭Interested to find out more? She’s been featured in our #BookOfTheMonth series before, and we’re happy to have her back on our shelves. As we move past October - and ADHD Awareness Month - there’s no reason for the learning and conversations around neurodiversity to stop. Following the success of her writing debut, Unmasked, Ellie Middleton’s second book, How to Be You, is another essential read - both for ADHD-ers and allies. 📚 With the main aim of teaching people how to work with their brain rather than against it, while navigating a largely 'neuronormative' society, she writes about the eight executive functions that neurodivergent people struggle with (from working memory to emotional regulation), sharing five tips to help readers be the best version of themselves. Make sure to give Ellie a follow on her socials to see more of the incredible work she’s doing to support the neurodivergent community! 🌟 #adhdawarenessmonth #adhd #autism #neurodiversity #inclusivity

This month team Hattrick's been busy successfully delivering some exciting projects. First off we supported the launch of a significant development in the social value space by bringing revolutionary resource, MeasureUp, to market. This new tool makes impact reporting less murky and has had a fantastic response from all corners of industry. Next we were tasked with letting the world's media know about Floreon's bioplastics breakthrough gaining US industry recognition with one outlet even translating the PR announcement into French, Spanish and German! Topped off by our award-writing efforts paying off with Tarkett taking home the innovation award for their game-changing VR technology aiding inclusive design. A hat trick for Hattrick and our client partners who are doing amazing things to make a difference - high fives all round! #sustainability #sustainablemarketing #sustainablebusiness

In news that Low Carbon Materials (LCM) have secured a £3 million investment to scale their decarbonisation solutions for the construction industry, we wanted to take notes from their committed CEO, Natasha Boulding, on her tips for sustainability success… ✍️ "Understand your baseline. Measure your carbon footprint to find out where you’re at currently, and then start making small, incremental improvements." Every journey starts somewhere, so instead of putting pressure on yourself - or your business - to get it 'right' the first time, focus on making gradual, manageable changes that build up to make a big difference. It’s about prioritising progress over perfection in everything you do. AND a massive 'congratulations' to Natasha and the team too, of course!! The B Corp community is growing, and last night’s ‘Party with Purpose’ event was a fantastic reminder of just how far we’ve come. 🎉 Hosted at one of Cheshire (and the UK’s) finest gems, Chester Zoo, we were proud to fly Hattrick’s flag alongside an inspiring group of fellow B-Corpers, all gathered to celebrate the official launch of B Local Cheshire. With cocktails in hand, plant-based nibbles, and entertainment, we then had the pleasure of hearing from an incredible panel: Sam Oulton, Simon Dowell, Jane Entwistle, Graham Donoghue, Lindsey Kidd, and moderator Emma Swinnerton. They shared their journeys to certification, the challenges of the gruelling – yet totally rewarding – assessment process (which we can definitely relate to!), and how the B Corp badge has impacted their businesses. Plus, their future plans left us all feeling inspired! A huge thank you to Entyce Creative | B Corp™ and B Lab UK for putting on such a fantastic event and making us proud to be part of this amazing community. 🧡
