What an action-packed October! Here’s a quick run down of just some of the things the WP community got up to this month 👇 📍Our educational Black History Walk, led by local historian and long-time friend of WP Joe Williams, celebrated Black History Month with an immersive walking tour of Leeds 🎲 The inaugural Board Games Night in collaboration with Cards or Die was a critical hit, with dozens of classic and brand new board games set up for anyone to play ♻️ Our Greener Working Group took their open forum on the move this month, with a Green Walk down the Leeds and Liverpool Canal netting the group 8 full bags of litter as they chatted sustainable solutions 💫 Light Night 2024 was an out of this world experience bringing thousands of visitors to the Wellington Place Zone for illuminated installations from an international array of artists, free hot chocolates and plenty of family-friendly fun, from our silent disco to the UV face paint! 🫶 Our BSL Sign Language Workshop gave the the WP community the opportunity to learn from a qualified instructor and start exploring the world through this incredible language Find out what we’ve got planned for November here 👉https://lnkd.in/eg8F6gDT #BlackHistoryMonth #WellingtonPlace #WorkplacePerks #LightNightLeeds #LightNight #LeedsBusiness #BusinessCommunity

Another stellar Light Night Leeds complete! 💡 We absolutely loved hosting the Wellington Place Zone with our neighbours at The Junction to create an intergalactic family-friendly zone for our local community. We'd like to say a massive thank you to the artists for their incredible illuminated installations and of course to everyone who silently danced the night away with their faces decorated in UV paint and a hot chocolate in their hands. This month we moved away from the regular format of our Greener Working Group and took a group of volunteers outside for some fresh air whilst getting actively involved looking after the local environment. Many thanks to everyone who braved the wet weather and came along to our Greener Working Group Litter Pick. Eight volunteers walked along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal and back via the Ring Road, collecting eight full bags of rubbish along the way. As well as a great opportunity for people to step away from their desks and get involved in something practical, it’s a rewarding and instantly actionable way to give back to the local community. As the days get shorter over winter, it’s more important than ever to keep an eye on your work/life balance. Staying active is not only a great way to take a break from the office and clear your head but a convenient way of warming yourself up too! Here at Wellington Place we work hard to provide every opportunity for our community to let off some steam with regular Pilates, Yoga, and Zumba sessions as well as our Wellington Pacers Running Club meeting every week and always happy to welcome new members. As well as the obvious physical benefits, our WP exercise classes are also a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues and a welcome excuse to treat yourselves to a drink or bite to eat afterwards!
