We help organisations analyse, develop & implement growth strategies
About us
Background: Established in 2012, Whitecap Consulting is a regional strategy consultancy headquartered in Leeds, with offices in Manchester, Milton Keynes, Bristol, Newcastle and Birmingham. We work with executives, boards and investors of predominantly mid-sized organisations, typically with a turnover of c£10m-£300m, helping them analyse, develop and implement growth strategies. Our clients are from a range of market sectors including: Financial Services, Technology, FinTech, Outsourcing, Consumer and Retail, Property, Healthcare, Higher Education, Manufacturing, Professional Services, Corporate Finance and PE. Our Approach: We believe strategy is simply being very clear about desired outcomes and objectives, and also about the choices and options available to get there. This pre-supposes that an organisation has the time and resources available to critique the current situation and operating environment, evaluate a range of options and pursue an agreed outcome. Strategy also relies on a structured process of internal and external analysis, scenario planning and decision making, set in the context of a dynamic and often fluid market. Options and choices are underpinned by commercial and financial analysis and forecasts designed to deliver growth, focused investment and organisational engagement with the strategy. We help our clients practically address these challenges and achieve their commercial aims quickly and efficiently.

Today, James Lee and I had the absolute honour of representing Whitecap Consulting the West Midlands supported internship event. This event brought together educators, employers, and advocates to discuss the growing need for inclusive work experiences that allow Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) individuals to develop their talents, contribute to the workforce, and build fulfilling careers. In the current landscape, it’s clear that internships can be a powerful stepping stone for young people transitioning into employment. But for those with SEND, the road can often be more challenging. By highlighting these obstacles and showcasing success stories, today’s event made a strong case for why businesses and organisations should expand internship offerings. What made today even more special was the opportunity to present awards - the stories of resilience and determination were incredibly moving. Congratulations to all the award winners paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. And a huge thank you to Paul Cook MBE, CEO of Hereward College, Suzie Branch-Haddow, Ricardo Mantovani ACA CA(SA) and all the incredible partners involved in putting together this event at the wonderful Shoosmiths office in Birmingham. #Inclusion #SEND #Internships #FutureLeaders #OpportunityForAll #WestMidlands #CareerOpportunities #InclusiveWorkplaces

With only 4.8% of adults with learning disabilities in paid employment, there is a pressing need to create more inclusive opportunities. Supported internships are a key mechanism, providing individuals with SEND the skills and experience required to succeed in the workforce. The West Midlands Supported Internship Event, happening today, will showcase innovative practices from across the region. Organised by Skills West Midlands & Warwickshire, and supported by the West Midlands Combined Authority, Shoosmiths, and Whitecap Consulting, this event will highlight successful partnerships between employers and further education institutions. It's a valuable opportunity for HR professionals, educators, and employment service providers to explore best practices for implementing supported internships. Whitecap has a strong presence in the Midlands, and we’re proudly sponsoring the event. Our involvement stems from our commitment to promoting inclusivity and our understanding of the power of strategic partnerships. Learn more - https://lnkd.in/eVUJNy43 Lal Tawney James Lee

Reflecting on a rewarding day at the FinTech West Conference 2024. As part of the Bristol Tech Festival, FinTech West brought together key figures in the industry for a day of valuable insights and networking. Whitecap Consulting was pleased to play an important role in the event, with our Director and FinTech Lead, Julian Wells, serving as the event’s MC. Here’s a brief overview of the agenda: Ben Howlett from Chamber UK opened the day with thoughtful insights on the evolving FinTech landscape. The sessions addressed a variety of topics, including AI for Collective Intelligence, presented by University of Bristol experts Seth Bullock and John Cartlidge, and Creating Inclusive FinTech Products, led by Marissa Ellis at Diversily. Anita Kimber and LaToyah McAllister-Jones FRSA shared valuable perspectives on community-driven innovation during the FinTech and the Community session. We also enjoyed showcases from emerging innovators such as Posterity, Payji, Kinherit, Stratiphy, and others. The day concluded with in-depth discussions on the Crypto Assets Project and NetZero funding. Thank you to Stuart Harrison for organising, TLT LLP for hosting and supporting the event, and to all the speakers and attendees. The atmosphere was positive, and it’s clear that the future of FinTech in the South West is promising. Learn more about FinTech West - https://lnkd.in/eDiGTyUD
