Watch the moment we saw bats at a turbine site 🦇 Our thermal and night vision expert, Jack, recently joined Paul from Wildlife Acoustics to conduct a dusk and night-time survey on a wind turbine site. To do this, the team used a series of thermal imaging monocular to observe bats in complete darkness, allowing them to remain non-intrusive 🌙 The survey involved monitoring Wildlife Acoustics' latest SMART detector, which communicates directly with the turbines to stop the blades from rotating when a bat is detected, reducing bat mortality rates. During the survey, bats were recorded interacting with the turbine many times. The SMART detector made the site safer for bats searching for food and using the turbine as shelter. #InternationalBatWeek

We passionately believe that every new home built should provide a home for wildlife and us 🐝🍃 Jen and Charlotte share the trends they’ve spotted driving meaningful change in how ecosystems are considered during urban and rural design. Loss of habitat is a huge factor for many wildlife species here in the UK, particularly swifts and bats, which have made their nests within our homes. Our solutions are designed to create spaces for nature in the framework of our homes and on the exterior. We hope that we can live alongside nature and see a recovery in our wonderful wildlife. 🎙️: Jennifer Wharton & Charlotte Evans 🎥: Amber Rose Stanley & S Jones Containers Ltd

2 minutes of playful otters 🥰 With the help of his Falcon FQ25 thermal monocular, Jack saw the world in a new way. This footage was taken at 9pm, in complete darkness, allowing Jack to observe these elusive otters and their natural behaviours which may have otherwise been missed 🌙 As you can see here, our HIKMICRO units are tailored to capture video and images of ecology and nature:
