This hub is designed to provide members with headline briefing on the new Government, offer all necessary tools for MP engagement, and outline the WSTA’s policy position and asks. The resources below are designed to make MP engagement simple: a standard template for an introductory email is included, alongside full guidance on how to identify and contact your MP. The WSTA’s Asks of Government, and four key policy briefings are included so that you can tailor your engagement to specific policy priorities if you wish. If your MP was re-elected or has not changed, engagement is still important. Rishi Sunak’s legacy lives on with last August’s duty increases pushing alcohol inflation to 2.5 times the headline rate. Bad news for consumers and further bad news coming on 1 February unless the Government agrees to scrap plans to impose costly red tape and bureaucracy for wine businesses. The new Labour Government needs to act by keeping the wine easement and supporting an SME-rich sector with strong potential for economic growth. #WSTA #WineEasement #Government

It is essential to establish relationships early – by registering with an MP the presence and local/national economic value of your business. We’re delighted to be supporting Club Soda's first Low, Light & Alcohol-Free Summit in London later this year – a day of learning, support and networking for the pioneering NoLo community.   Bringing together start-ups and established brands, supply chain providers, consultancies and allied industries, the summit – on 10th September at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, Waterloo – will also work on priority actions for the sector’s growth.   “We’ve lined up an incredible array of thought leaders, investors, buyers and more,” said Club Soda’s Laura Willoughby MBE. “The post-event white paper will be a talking point for the industry and create a manifesto for the sector’s growth.”   With four themes to the day – launching, growing, normalising and collaborating – the summit includes panel sessions, buyer tasting sessions, one-on-one sessions with industry experts in export, trademarking, branding, marketing and more, all wrapped up with a social mixer in the evening.   SoV Co-founder Roddy Nicoll is among the industry experts taking part.
