It's taken me 31 years (well, 13 years realistically) to feel like I have a career. I'm experiencing reverse-imposter syndrome where I know I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. I'm challenged, I get to work my socks off consistently which is recognised and rewarded, I'm surrounded by colleagues that inspire and amaze me and I'm actually having fun as well. I don't think it's true that if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life. Great careers *feel* like work because they push as much as they fulfill. To feel like you're learning as much as when you were in school is a total privilege. I come away from work these days grateful for the evening but deeply satisfied. It's barmy that this is my life now tbh, love it though.
