We’re excited to announce Matthew Robinson as our new Head of Sustainability at Workplace Futures Group. Starting his journey at Ambit as an Assistant Site Manager, Matt gained hands-on insight into construction processes and the challenges the industry faces in achieving Net Zero, biodiversity goals, and broader Sustainable Development Goals. In his new role, Matt is focused on ensuring that WFG employees and subcontractors have the knowledge they need to actively engage with sustainability within the built environment. Collaboration across the entire industry will be key to driving real change, and this is something Matt is determined to push for. What’s the true carbon impact of office partitions? As part of B Corp Month, we’re revisiting an important discussion on sustainability in workplace design. We commissioned a study to analyse the embodied carbon of different partition systems, and the findings were the focus of a roundtable discussion at Fora Henry Wood House featuring our COO Tim White and Ambit 's Head of Sustainability Matthew Robinson. The discussion explored how material choices, manufacturing processes, and product lifespan all contribute to a partition’s carbon footprint, offering key insights for businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact. In partnership with University of Richmond we transformed their 28,000 sq ft campus at Chiswick Business Park into a modern, vibrant learning environment. The Cat B fit out focused on enhancing the library, student communal areas, and classrooms. The project involved significant structural work, including reverse engineering to strengthen the library's floor slab, adding a mezzanine, and incorporating exposed mechanical elements for an industrial yet focused atmosphere. We integrated biophilic design in communal spaces to bring a natural feel, while keeping classrooms neutral and adaptable with maximised natural light. This collaborative effort has provided Richmond University with a state-of-the-art campus that meets the evolving needs of students and staff.

The Waterman in Clerkenwell is a bold reimagining of four Victorian warehouses into a 70,000 sq ft workspace, delivered by Ambit with BGO and Fathom Architects. By unifying the buildings, the project creates flexible, character-filled workspaces while preserving the site’s heritage. 5,000 bricks and 3 tonnes of glass have been repurposed, with old windows transformed into terrazzo-style worktops. Raised flooring reuse alone saved 250+ tonnes of CO2, alongside smart lighting and a naturally ventilated system. Two has successfully delivered a stunning workspace for Accelya, a global leader in technology solutions for the travel and transport industry. This project was designed to reflect Accelya’s innovative approach to technology while prioritising the needs of its employees. The new office includes thoughtfully designed collaboration zones, quiet workspaces, and state-of-the-art meeting rooms, all brought together with a contemporary aesthetic that balances functionality and style.
