The Power Of Collective Intelligence 🧠 How do you: 💡 Conceive more ideas? 🚀 Generate breakthrough solutions far beyond the capacity of any individual or sub-group? 🎨 Respond creatively to briefs, but also encourage your teams to push boundaries and step outside their comfort zones? The answer isn't only by gathering the best minds with experience or skills. It's about blending diverse perspectives and backgrounds to create something extraordinary. As Lizzie Penny and Alex Hirst ✊🏻 describe in their book - Workstyle: A Revolution for Wellbeing, Productivity, and Society (John Murray Press, 2022): “This is not just about having the best minds on a problem in terms of experience or skills - it’s about the combination of their diverse knowledge and experiences that can be brought together in a positive respectful way where each has equal confidence and opportunity to challenge, in pursuit of a shared goal.” And this way of working has been tried and tested over the last 10 years at Hoxby. Also co-founded by Lizzie Penny and Alex Hirst, Hoxby is the original prototype set up to test workstyle working. Hoxby's clients consistently feedback that it is this collaborative spirit that keeps them coming back year after year. Want to learn more about how Workstyle can help your organisation? How do you stay motivated when things aren’t going as planned? How would you describe the current economic situation? 🤷♀️ Last week, despite not having the number of clients I’d like right now, I chose to take a break and spend time in La Gomera. Yes, I had my laptop and iPad with me for calls and work, but I also soaked in the sun, hiked through stunning landscapes and enjoyed incredible food 😋 If you haven’t been before, La Gomera is a hidden gem. Unlike Tenerife or Gran Canaria, it’s much less touristy, making it a peaceful retreat 🏔️ ☺️ Even in a challenging season, like the famine state many of us face, with tough client acquisition, budget cuts and a difficult employment landscape, it's crucial to look after yourself. Taking a break, even a small one, can be so beneficial 🙂 If you're feeling overwhelmed, remember these three things: 🟣 You are not alone – Many people are going through the same struggles. The power of community is incredible; you just need to ask for help. 🟣 Rest fuels productivity – Taking time to recharge helps you perform better when you return to work. 🟣 Opportunities will come – Tough times pass and persistence, combined with self-care, keeps you ready for the next opportunity. I’ve met so many lovely people over the past few months and the support networks out there are truly amazing. I’m part of some fantastic communities like Up World, The Workstyle Revolution, YunoJuno, Women in Experimentation, B2B Supper Club, and Women in Tech SEO - people are more than happy to help. I have two lovely mentors whom I wanted to give a shoutout to: Orwell McGubbins (freelance designer) and Harri Vivian (B2B expert) 🩵 Reach out to me or someone who you feel comfortable with if you want to chat, take breaks and stay hopeful 💪 #community #selfcare #support

But how can you possibly *trust* these people you’ve never met? 🤨 This was a question asked of Hoxby co-founder Lizzie Penny by a man sitting next to her at a conference nearly 10 years ago. Also co-founded by Alex Hirst ✊🏻, Hoxby implements #workstyle practices throughout its business. It serves as both a case study and a service provider for organisations looking to adopt Workstyle principles. The answer is given in this quote from their book: “Trust is the opposite of presenteeism. It is based on empowerment, and we have found it creates greater accountability and co-operation. Trust is the cornerstone of any relationship, whether it be with your family, friends, colleagues, pets-you name it. The quality of our relationships, the success of our teams, and ultimately our productivity can all be distilled down to the extent to which we trust one another.” 🤝 'Workstyle: A Revolution for Wellbeing, Productivity, and Society' (John Murray Press, 2022): This trust translates into productivity through: 💪 Empowerment- Feeling free to deliver work your way ✅ Accountability- Doing what you say you will 🤝 Co-operation- Working together in new ways And the evidence supports this too. Compared with people at low-trust companies, people at high-trust companies report 50 per cent higher productivity, as well as lots of other amazing statistics around burnout and engagement! Would you like to discuss how #Workstyle could increase productivity at your organisation? We're here and eager to help! 🚀 Email hello@workstylerevolution.com or send us a DM

This time last week, our Workstyle Revolution co-founders Alex Hirst ✊🏻 and Lizzie Penny were on their way to Qingdao, China to collect an award at the Zero DX Awards Ceremony on behalf of their professional services agency Hoxby Hoxby implements #workstyle practices throughout its business, serving as both a case study and a service provider for organisations looking to adopt workstyle principles. Having been selected as one of the 50 most progressive organisations in the world, we are proud to share that Hoxby have also won the Benchmark Innovators Zero Distance Award, recognising our innovative approach to organisational design. An awesome achievement to further reinforce the benefits of workstyle working! #WorkstyleRevolution #AutonomousWorking #RanDanHeYi
Hoxby wins Zero Distance Award! Having been selected as one of the 50 most progressive organisations in the world, Hoxby is proud to have also won the Benchmark Innovators Zero Distance Award! Presented to Co-Founders Alex Hirst ✊🏻 and Lizzie Penny on Friday at the Zero DX Awards Ceremony in Qingdao, China, this award recognises our innovative approach to organisational design. Our culture has always been grounded in the principle of autonomous, #workstyle working. This has enabled us to attract diverse, freelance talent that organises into teams specifically tailored to meet the individual requirements of each client. This reduces the ‘distance’ to our customers; a fundamental principle of the #RenDanHeYi model, pioneered by Haier. We are incredibly grateful to the Business Ecosystem Alliance, Thinkers50 and the Haier Model Institute for recognising our pioneering work in this space. If you would like to learn more about the way we work, or how it might help transform your business then please get in touch.

Charity partnership announcement! 📣 We’re pleased to confirm that we have recently agreed a new partnership with Autistica Autistica are the UK’s leading autism research and campaigning charity. Their mission is to help all autistic people to live happier, healthier, longer lives. And one of their goals is particularly aligned to our Workstyle mission: “The employment rate for autistic people will double by 2030”. There are 450,000 autistic people of working age in the UK. 77% of autistic adults want to work, but only 26% are in any kind of employment. This means that the working gap for this group is 51%.* We look forward to working with Autistica and advocating for neurodiverse individuals. *Source: Workstyle: A Revolution for Wellbeing, Productivity, and Society, John Murray Press, 2022. #NewPartnership #CharityPartnership #WorkWithoutBias #CloseTheGaps #InclusiveEmployment #WorkstyleRevolution
