Every child with cancer, wherever they live in the world, should have equal access to the best possible treatment & care

About us

World Child Cancer’s vision is to see a world where every child with cancer has access to the best possible treatment and care. Our mission is to improve cancer diagnosis, treatment and palliative care for children in low and middle income countries, tackling the global inequality in the treatment of childhood cancer. We do this by establishing twinning partnerships linking hospitals in the developing world with hospitals in the developed world to provide a two-way transfer of expertise and skills to create locally appropriate solutions to the problem of childhood cancer in each country. This expertise and knowledge sharing is generously donated for free by our network of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Children diagnosed with cancer in low to middle-income countries only have a 20% survival rate... While in countries like the UK more than 80% of children survive their cancer diagnosis. This October, I'm taking part in 60K for Kids with Cancer to help to close that 60% survival gap and save young lives. I'm doing this to raise funds for World Child Cancer to fund lifesaving treatment and care to children with cancer around the world. My personal challenge now is 60K a week...240km in total, with just a week to go! This week my walking has been closer to home in North Yorkshire. There is still time to sponsor me, and to support this brilliant organisation and our vision of a world where every child with cancer has access to treatment and care. https://lnkd.in/e3dD36-e

🎗️ September was Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM), and the World Child Cancer Nepal team took impactful steps to support families and raise awareness across the country. Here's a round-up of the activities they coordinated throughout the month: ✨ Family Support Group Session They brought together families from three partner hospitals, offering them valuable guidance on coping with their child's cancer treatment and connecting them with further support resources. 🥗 Nutritional Session & Distribution To help families better care for their children during treatment, they hosted a nutritional session and exhibition, sharing expert advice on healthy eating. Families also received a nutritional package with appropriate food items tailored to the needs of children undergoing cancer treatment. 📚 Community Awareness Campaign The team visited two local schools, educating parents about the importance of early detection of childhood cancer and its warning signs, ensuring that more families are aware of the symptoms to look out for. 👩⚕️ Training for Healthcare Professionals Healthcare professionals were trained across Nepal on how to recognise the early signs and symptoms of childhood cancer, ensuring that children can get the care they need as early as possible. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in making this month a success! Together, we can provide better care and support for children with cancer. 💛 #ChildhoodCancerAwareness #WorldChildCancerNepal #TogetherForChange #CCAM2024

October is Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month! 🩺💙 Ultrasound technology plays a critical role in the diagnosis, treatment, and pain management of children with cancer. In places like Cameroon, access to ultrasound technology can be life-saving. For just £96, you could help fund diagnostic ultrasounds for five children, giving them a better chance of survival and the treatment they need.
