A few themes stood out: • Many feel they’re still “starting from zero” with enterprise AI. • Emphasizing that “not every problem needs AI” resonated powerfully with tech leaders who are forced to develop AI projects with no real business outcome. • The big debate? Prompting vs. fine-tuning. Some interesting debates on which approach is best • The journey from concept to production isn’t clear for most companies which is exactly where Invisible provides help. Next up, Brandon Warech from IBM presented 'Client Zero: How IBM is Scaling Generative AI with a Winning Strategy,' offering an inspiring view into AI's transformative impact. 🎯🤖 A thought-provoking panel with Shub A. from U.S. Bank, Joshua Martin from the State of Indiana, Ujwal Chejerla of PPG, and Lawrence Shieh at HarbourVest Partners examined 'Asking the Right Questions' in AI investments. Later, Lydia Andresen at Invisible shared her expertise on Scaling AI, sparking fresh ideas. 💬🌐 Closed-door think tanks enabled deeper dives into specific AI challenges. Frederique De Letter from Keller Williams Realty, Inc. led a session on creating effective AI education for non-technical teams, while Arjun Srinivasan of Wesco tackled Responsible and Explainable AI, and Victor Povar from IBM addressed AI deployment strategies to enhance productivity.🔍🧠 A highlight was Jessica Jarvis from ZS leading an impactful panel on advancing female leadership in AI with Cori Shen, Dr. Jana Boerger at GXO Logistics, Inc., and Rina Khanna who discussed the importance of sponsorship, embracing diverse perspectives, and fostering supportive management. Roundtables fostered meaningful discussions across topics, from Kevin K. of Airia - Enterprise AI Simplified, on 'Enterprise AI: Promise and Peril,' to Anand Saokar from Wellstar Health System discussing communication strategies for bridging AI and data leadership. We also explored the future of the Chief AI Officer role with Sandeep Rustagi, PhD of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Lavanya Shukla of Weights & Biases on overcoming barriers to AI production in enterprise. What a pleasure to join the Chief AI Officer Exchange this week with leaders from NVIDIA , IBM , Pfizer , and others. Some key takeaways from my discussions with industry leaders: 1. Earning the trust of internal customers is key, and must include ways to boost model performance, fill education gaps, and fine tune where we can’t rely on prompt engineering to be adhered to. 2. Several organizations have ideas of strategies they want to try in 2025, but are getting stuck without the ability to measure the success of these strategies. 3. Model benchmarks are fun, but often don’t inspire the multimillion dollar business decisions they’re meant to. Blowing up the benchmark, and going back to good old fashioned data science can put executives back in the drivers seat. What a great audience. It’s not often that you encounter a keynote session start with a presentation, and turn into a collaborative discussion between audience members by the end of the Q&A session. It was great to be able to share learnings and discussion with such an engaged group of leaders. Makes me excited to see what’s around the corner!
