Well that was fun! Reflecting on an awesome few days in #London, a continuous enthralling, enriching and mind blowing experiences by being a part of #CAIO2024 as a keynote speake on“ AI strategy and Operating model”during 9-10 July , 2024. AI Global thought leaders from all across the world participating and exchanging ideas (through #fireside chats,#panels,#thinktanks, plenary business round table exchanges etc.)offering plethora of latest technological advancement information pertaining to #AIadoption in the present day and the readiness for expected #futuristicparadigm shift in the world of AI. Great work Ebba Wiberg & the entire team for organizing an excellent Conference! 2 Days conference was a fun filled learning experience covering all the aspects of enablementk of AI in practical scenarios –the event was complemented with excellent arrangements made by the organizers for UEFA EURO 2024 semi final b/w #Spain vs France (w/ Spain won, #Buenísimo !) – Later won the rock, paper,scissor #contest by efforts of my colleague from Philips Dr Vineet Basotia who decided to lose to make me #win - this is the spirit we had in the CAIO exchange. AI leaders shared their common views and few of the #keytakeaways were: - Understanding guardrails & Embedding right digital capabilities & technologies enterprise wide to have more agile adaptive operating model which meets today’s business realities, emerging customer’s expectations and create a #sustainable #competitive #value. -Thought leaders need to be #transformers of change - Their growth mindset is the #catalyst for innovation & limitless new possibilities. These AI Leaders are value drivers in providing the future direction however every player in #AI #ecosystem has to play their role in sustaining and curtailing under certain rules & regulations from #Ethical, Environmental, Bias agnostic perspective. - CTO / CDO can build CAIO role in their teams as AI is a product and technology not a job function. - Data story telling is #peremptory to co-create desired impact. - Investing in AI is the next big paradigm shift and I believe we have enough pitches to bring on table the investment decisions more meaningful. The Emerging technologies like #GenAI, #Digitaltwin etc. can be Capital intensive, a business case identifying the right tools,technologies looking beyond the #AIhype is imperative for delivering value within admissible cost. 𝗜𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲? – this question, posed at the #CAIOExchange, has been echoing in my mind ever since. Over two days of intense discussions, note-taking, and brain-expanding sessions, I was inspired by the brilliance of industry leaders and experts. I want to 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 everyone for the great conversations! 😊 Daniel Hulme's presentation was absolutely provocative! 𝗔𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻; 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁. Which means that sometimes we should think not only about what happens if it goes wrong, but 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁? 🤔 Everyone took note of #𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 - imagine an #AI brain millions of times smarter than us - 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆? We all changed our perspectives about #PoC - 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁?𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁?𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲? The basic idea is evaluating not just if a technology can work, but if it can do so cost-effectively and in the specific business context. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝘃𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆? 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 stuck with me -embracing #failure is essential for progress. 💡 The data’s evolving #value was discussed in one of the think tanks – funnily enough, we all believe 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆. With #GenAI, the value of data is more fluid than ever, and its lifecycle is short. The value of the data lies in 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱, rather than in the data itself. 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? It emphasizes the need for adaptability and aligning the best diverse groups of experts to make decisions. This will create dynamic, responsive organizations. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻, we should also consider whether we are utilizing AI or producing it. The debate on 𝗔𝗜 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 is crucial as it defines who controls the future of technology. Still an ongoing discussion for many of us 😊 When it comes to #diversity in AI, it all starts with 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Promoting diverse and transferable skills, equal representation, and visibility in AI are vital to ensure we are not just creating technology, but doing so #𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 and #𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆. Now that I am heading back to Göteborg after the Chief AI Officer Exchange Europe 2024, here are the three amazing things I am taking with me: 1) Invaluable Insights: The conference provided a great platform to explore how AI and generative AI can be harnessed for real-world business challenges. From governance to health, the discussions were broad and deep, offering fresh perspectives on driving progress with AI. 2) Reconnecting with a great innovator: I enjoyed reconnecting with Jim Edwards, whom I worked with years ago at Kimberly-Clark. Our conversations about innovation, design thinking, and advancing AI in our companies were invigorating and reminded me of the importance of fostering such forward-thinking dialogues. 3) A Must-Read Book: While waiting for my flight back home, I picked up a very interesting book by Harvard Business Review, "HBR's 10 Must Reads on AI," including the bonus article "How to Win with Machine Learning" by Ajay Agrawal, Joshua Gans, and Avi Goldfarb. I’m excited to dive into it and gain further insights this summer, which I believe will significantly impact my future learning and work in AI. Huge thanks to Ebba Wiberg (Tack för en fantastisk upplevelse!) and the entire IQPC team for delivering such a great event. Also, a special shoutout to Kieran Gilmurray for everything you did over the last two days. Your energy, pace, and great insights were instrumental in making these 2 days memorable. Wow, what a week. A massive thank you to everyone who brought the Chief AI Officer Exchange to life here in London. We explored everything from the the possibilities of AI, it's implications, how the workforce needs to be reimagined, how we can keep up with its continued evolution, how it can be effectively put to use in enterprises today, how to break the bias, bring about a more diverse tomorrow, scale it, navigate commercial sensitivities, combat hype and sensationalism, share its value internally through storytelling, boost creativity and drive research, and answered(?) the enormous question of who should own AI....! Yes, we explored lots and as I sit here at the end of the week I am feeling incredibly inspired by this amazing community of AI leaders who are daring to go where no one has been before, changing businesses and the world as we know it. Let's tackle this artificially intelligent tomorrow together and make it an asset to businesses.
