🧠 What's it like to work in academia and have dyslexia? Dr Edward Ademolu PhD, FHEA from the Department of Interdisciplinary Humanities shares his personal experiences in Times Higher Education to show how academia can embrace neurodiversity. 'My dyslexia gave me an edge – allowing me to see connections others often missed and approach problems with creativity and intuition, making me well suited to qualitative research.' His new research paper highlights the potential of using cultural competency as a framework for change to harness the cognitive strengths of dyslexia, such as holistic thinking, pattern recognition and creativity. He proposes three steps to transform perceptions of dyslexia: 1⃣ Activate consciousness 2⃣ Connect relations 3⃣ Transform practices Read more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/egQkaPx3

👏 Congratulations to Dr Nick Srnicek, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Digital Humanities, King's College London, on becoming an Honorary Professor of the University of Buenos Aires! 'We need to imagine a massive expansion of democratic opportunities for people to have a voice in the norms and rules that are governing their lives. Ultimately, what matters is not so much the endless reduction of labour per se, but instead the cultivation of time and institutions through which we might consciously and collectively guide the development of humanity,' – Dr Nick Srnicek. https://lnkd.in/dJm-ps-e
