Uzbekistan has a great potential for the development of Islamic Finance! We are collaborating with the Government of Uzbekistan to advance Sukuk and Green Sukuk as alternative financing solutions for sustainable development. We organized a two-day training aiming to raise awareness among government officials and stakeholders about Islamic Finance’s role in financial stability, inclusion, and impact investing. The event also explored the potential of Green Sukuk, with a special focus on regulatory frameworks and taxation that could support their implementation in Uzbekistan. #SustainableFinance Gulcin Salingan UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (UNDP ICPSD)

For the last two days we explored achievements of five innovation groups of our #EUAGRIN project located in Fergana region, funded by the European Union. Each making strides in climate adapting, sustainable agriculture and resource efficiency! ✅ We saw how advanced technologies are enhancing cotton yields while reducing water by 30% and chemical fertilizer use by 50%! 🍅 Innovation group on organic tomato cultivation revealed impressive water-saving techniques and eco-friendly practices for drying. 🌱 It was interesting to learn that bioremediation could restore the fertility of saline soils. 🌾 The new mung bean variety “Barqaror” could revolutionize yields and promote early ripening. 🐟 Innovative solutions in fish farming are implemented to ensure sustainability and productivity. A big thank to the European Union, Ministry of Agriculture and all partners for making this possible! More details: https://lnkd.in/e7QpttjQ #ClimateSmartAgriculture Toivo K. 🌾International Rural Women's Day is a great opportunity to recognize the achievements of rural workers and appreciate their significant contribution not only to food security, but also to building a bright and environmentally friendly future! ✅The heroine of our story is a resident of one of the remote regions of Uzbekistan, who demonstrated initiative and determination, inspiring members of her large family to switch from traditional energy sources to installing solar panels, which was a rather bold and progressive step towards energy efficiency and sustainable development. ⚡️The benefits for installing solar panels received within the framework of our project with Global Environment Facility literally "brought light to her home", ensuring an uninterrupted supply of electricity, and at the same time significantly reducing electricity bills. 👩🦰 Such stories confirm that even in the rural areas, a woman can be a powerful driver of change, lighting the way to a sustainable future, where environmental protection and gender equality become not distant ideals, but a reality. 🔗 Read the full story at: https://lnkd.in/dcyB_8K3 #RuralWomensDay UNDP UNDP in Europe and Central Asia
