𝗚𝗘𝗙𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰| 𝗚𝗚𝗦𝗖 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 & 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰   Last week, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟴𝟬% of our GGSC members joined GEFE 2024 as exhibitors, panelists, moderators or simply as visitors. This event served as a platform for exploring cutting-edge sustainable practices and innovative solutions aimed at accelerating progress towards net-zero emissions goals. By engaging with 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟴𝟬𝟬𝟬 visitors from businesses, governments, and NGOs, GGSC members were able to showcase their expertise, foster valuable partnerships, and gain insights into emerging trends shaping the future of sustainable development.    In addition, GGSC’s members representatives from BASF, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, EDP Renewables APAC, Equinor, ESGs & Climate Consulting, Evonik, Green Transition, Hogan Lovells, Hitachi Energy, Innovation Norway, KPMG Vietnam, Nestlé, Saint-Gobain Vietnam, Saraiva + Associados, Schneider Electric, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage, TONA SYNTEGRA SOLAR JSC, Royal HaskoningDHV, Water Solutions South-East Asia convened to deliberate on innovative solutions and strategies to foster a sustainable future for Vietnam through about 20 conference sessions. By sharing their expertise and insights, these esteemed members contributed to identifying effective pathways towards achieving environmental sustainability and economic growth.    Once again, GGSC extend our sincere gratitude for your active participation and valuable contributions. He highlighted potential impacts on Vietnamese export industries, particularly those heavily reliant on EU markets. Mr. Stuart Livesey also emphasized the importance of knowledge-sharing and policy guidance to help businesses transition smoothly, noting the European Commission is preparing targeted support tools for Vietnamese exporters. The forum’s participants included key Vietnamese and international experts, such as UNDP Resident Representative Ramla Khalidi, CIEM President Tran Thi Hong Minh, and Senior Economic Advisor to the UNDP, Jonathan London.  With an emphasis on aligning with environmental and economic goals, the forum discussed how Vietnamese industries can strengthen their global standing through sustainability. 𝗚𝗚𝗦𝗖 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀| 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗚𝗚𝗦𝗖 𝗖𝗼-𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗛𝘂𝗯 From October 31 to November 1, Co-Chairman of EuroCham’s Green Growth Sector Committee (GGSC), Mr. Erick Contreras Conteras participated in event: “The role of press and business leaders in sustainability”, organized by Green Media HUB and Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper.  The event was attracted over 100 participants, including representatives from the Vietnam Journalists Association, governmental departments, and leaders from national and provincial media agencies. In the panel discussion, he addressed the challenges Vietnamese enterprises face in transitioning towards a circular sustainable economy or accessing to technologies and finance.  He also highlighted EuroCham Vietnam and its GGSC commitment to promoting sustainability in Vietnam and its crucial role in bridging the gap between media and business in advancing green initiatives. EuroCham's Green Growth Sector Committee (GGSC) is continuing a great platform for experts and businesses to share practices driving sustainability. 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝟱 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀   Vietnam is facing the challenges of climate change, alongside rapid urbanization, which is affecting water safety and security. This has led to the theme of Vietnam Water Week: water security and water safety.    The event will include four scientific seminars: Draft Law on Water Supply and Sewerage; Sustainable management and operation of water supply and sewerage systems in response to climate change; Smart, efficient corporate governance in the Water Sector with increased resilience; and Gender Equality in the Water Sector.     Notably, this year features a seminar on Gender Equality in the Water Sector, a new and important aspect of personnel management and recruitment in water enterprises. It is hoped that after the seminar, units, organizations, and enterprises will develop a Gender Equality Strategy for the 2025-2030 period that meets international standards.     The event also includes 200 booths from 150 organizations and businesses in an international exhibition, showcasing products and equipment related to water solutions.     Green Growth Sector Committee EuroCham Vietnam hopes that the event will be successful and bring invaluable insights and innovative solutions to the water sector, promoting water security. 𝗚𝗘𝗙𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 | 𝗚𝗚𝗦𝗖 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝒅 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 & 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰   The EuroCham Vietnam Green Economy Forum & Exhibition 2024 was a successful event held October 21-23, featuring over 𝟮𝟬𝟬 exhibitors, 𝟯𝟬 conferences, and 𝟭𝟲𝟬 speakers and moderators. More than 𝟴,𝟬𝟬𝟬 visitors from businesses, government, and NGOs in Europe and Vietnam attended to explore sustainable practices, policies, and initiatives and network with industry leaders.     The Green Growth Sector Committee - EuroCham Vietnam was proud to contribute to GEFE by putting amazing programs and participating as moderators and panelists. We had the opportunity to provide recommendations for improving policies in green fields.     Co-chairs Erick Contreras as moderator & Stuart Livesey as part of the panel on the topic of “Building green future!”. We gained invaluable insights from the panelists of their vision of how to unblock FDI, especially in the green energy sector.    In Topic 1 about Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency (REEE), Mr Đính NGUYEN-PHAN, Vice-chairman GGSC and head of REEE WG and Mr. Stuart Livesey discussed the delivery of PDP8 implementation plan in Vietnam, the potential of offshore wind industry through hydrogen industry.     In Topic 2, Ms. Betty Pallard, Vice Chairwoman of GGSC, discussed the carbon market's potential and challenges in the panel ' From Green to Growth: Unpacking Vietnam’s Carbon Market potential.”    In Topic 3, Mr. Bao Nguyen, Vice-Chairman of GGSC, discussed ESG disclosures and reporting for EU compliance. He highlighted the benefits of strong ESG practices for improving performance, competitiveness, and attracting green investments.    In Topic 4, Mr. Sergio Pereira da Silva joined panel “Passive architecture design strategies for Vietnamese buildings” as a moderator to highlight the importance of sustainable buildings and designs.     In topic 5, Mr. Khuất Quang Hưng, Vice Chairman of GGSC and head of the Circular Economy Working Group, focused on implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations in Vietnam.
