Secret Cottage, designed by me+, is a project that transformed a residential area over 50 years old in the heart of Saigon into a Vietnamese cuisine restaurant and three boutique apartments for rent. It expands on the successful Vietnamese restaurant chain, Secret Garden, embracing its characteristic rural charm presented in a neat and elegant manner. Secret Côn Đảo, a project by me+ Architect, involved the transformation of nearly 2 century-old villas. The renovation aimed to create a luxurious resort area adjacent to a nearby hotel with over 200 rooms. The Villa features two separate bedrooms, each modernly decorated. The Heritage room reflects traditional Vietnamese style with warm brown wooden furnishings. The Tropical room offers a comfortable atmosphere with a small living area overlooking the garden. Outdoor bathrooms feature unique wooden bathtubs that blend rustic charm with elegant amenities. Moreover, the Secret Con Dao restaurant harmoniously blends old and new spaces, providing guests with a unique experience on Con Dao Island. Overcoming construction challenges in such a remote location while respecting the existing environment posed a significant challenge for the design team throughout the process.
