Samsung has reportedly started sending out media invites for an event scheduled for May 21 in Mumbai, India. The South Korean company is expected to bring its Galaxy A6 series to the Indian market and introduce a couple of Galaxy J series smartphones featuring Infinity Display panels, considering the invite reads “Say Hello To Infinity & More”. While the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus have already been made official, the Galaxy J6 mid-range smartphone with a tall display is rumored to be announced soon. All Android smartphones set to launch in the country this month will be assembled in India itself and positioned below the price of Samsung’s Galaxy A8 lineup launched in the South Asian market earlier this year, insiders claim.

The Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus are expected to be priced between Rs. 20,000 ($295) and Rs. 25,000 ($368), whereas the Galaxy J-series devices will be positioned in a lower price bracket starting at Rs. 15,000 ($221). To recall, the Galaxy A8 Plus debuted in India at a price of Rs. 32,990 ($486) and can be often found retailing at a slightly lower price. Samsung introduced the Galaxy A6 line of smartphones earlier this month with a metal build and mid-range internals. The lower-end Galaxy A6 boasts a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display while being powered by an Exynos 7870 processor paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The handset includes a 3,000mAh battery and comes running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. A 16-megapixel camera unit can be found on both the front and back of the phone. The Plus variant, on the other hand, includes a larger 6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, also with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is fueled by a Snapdragon 450 processor and sports a 3,500mAh battery, while most of its other specifications are similar to that of the Galaxy A6. A rear-placed dual-camera setup is also part of the package.

As to its Galaxy J series, Samsung is rumored to announce Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 mid-range smartphones, of which the latter is said to come equipped with an Infinity Display. Based on the leaks, its specifications are more or less similar to the Galaxy A6, while the Galaxy J4 may use a conventional 16:9 display. A handful of press renders of the Galaxy J6 had surfaced earlier today, whereas previous reports claimed the Android handset will debut in India on May 25 at a starting price of Rs. 13,990 ($208).
