OnePlus’ second smartphone for 2018 is set to unveil later this month and a series of leaks have already provided a detailed look at its design. The latest in the line comes from Mobile Fun that has prematurely listed the entire portfolio of Olixar-branded cases for the upcoming OnePlus 6T. At this point in time, these cases don’t add any new detail to the generally known information about the handset, though they do reiterate what previous leaks and rumors had claimed. The unannounced Android flagship can be seen boasting a design language that is largely based on its predecessor and the current OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus 6. The two handsets differ majorly in two areas – their display cutouts and the placement of their fingerprint readers.

The Chinese OEM has already confirmed that its next high-end handset will get rid of the rear-facing capacitive fingerprint sensor and use an under-display optical solution instead. OnePlus’ sister companies – Vivo and OPPO – offer an extensive range of devices sporting similarly advanced fingerprint readers, however, most global brands have stayed away from the technology mainly because of its slower response time than conventional means. The biometric sensors deployed by OnePlus are considered one of the fastest in the mobile phone industry and the company is unlikely to favor a slower sensor for its next-generation device. In addition to this, the display notch, which was introduced only recently on the OnePlus 6, will shrink quite a bit to house just the front-facing camera, while the sensors and earpiece will be pushed further up toward the phone’s edge giving the user a larger screen estate. Both these changes have been recited several times in the past reports and the new case renders reaffirm the same design choices. The mentioned prices of these cases start at $7.77 for the basic ones and go all the way up to $25.92 for higher-end cases made out of premium materials.

A major feature that the OnePlus 6T has been confirmed to ditch is the 3.5mm headphone jack. The launch of the Bullets Wireless earphones earlier this year supposedly paved a way for the company to remove the analog connector and at the same time give the users a lower-priced alternative to their wired headphones. Apart from these changes, the high-end handset is expected to continue using the same internals found inside the OnePlus 6, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. The upcoming device is rumored to include a larger 3,700mAh battery and come pre-installed with Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0 which was released quite recently for the OnePlus 6.
