Samsung has been rolling out updates to its devices at an incredible pace lately, not just security patches but Android updates as well. It has been a consistent improvement over the past few years. As a testament to that, the company is now gearing up to release the stable Android 13 update a whole month early than last year. Rumors are that Galaxy phones will start receiving the big Android update with Samsung’s One UI 5.0 custom software next month. And by the end of this year, nearly a dozen models would make the jump to the new Android version. Perhaps even more.

According to SamMobile, Samsung plans to roll out the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 stable update to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy A53 before the end of 2022. And to be honest, this isn’t surprising. Perhaps we expect more Galaxy devices to get the stable update before the year draws close. After all, the rollout is beginning a month early than last year. And Samsung had updated more phones with Android 12-based One UI 4.0 by the end of last year.

All eligible Samsung flagships picked up the stable One UI 4.0 update before 2022 arrived, at least in one market. We are talking about like almost 20 smartphone models, give or take. It would be disappointing if the company doesn’t repeat that feat this year. Perhaps it could better that. Of course, it all depends on when the stable rollout begins. The rumored mid-October timeline hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. But if it’s true, we are just about three weeks away. So stay tuned.

Samsung is currently beta testing the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update

All major OEMs launch public beta programs to test new Android versions for their devices. These programs help companies find and squash bugs and other issues before the stable release. Samsung began the public beta testing of its Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software early last month. It is currently running beta programs for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series. Both lineups have received multiple beta builds during this period, with the latest one coming a few days back. Going by rumors, the Galaxy S22 trio may pick up the stable update next month, with others to follow shortly after. We will keep you updated.
