NDMC to operationalise new vet hospital in May

The New Delhi Municipal Council will open a new veterinary hospital in Moti Bagh by May 2023, equipped with modern medical facilities for animals. The hospital will cater to over 150-200 animals daily and will have imaging facilities, operation theatres, and sterilisation facilities. The construction work is almost complete and the required medical equipment will be procured soon. The hospital will be developed near Bidhan Chandra Vidyalaya and will have three floors with various specialized units. Additionally, plans are underway to develop a multi-specialty hospital and an animal birth control office at the site of the old complex.

NDMC extends fee hike at parking lots in Delhi

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will continue to charge enhanced parking fees until April 30 or the withdrawal of Grap stage 2, as part of efforts to combat air pollution. The fees were doubled in November 2023 and apply to both NDMC-operated parking lots and those managed by private concessionaires. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has not yet enforced a parking fee hike. Experts have called for a more comprehensive and uniform policy on parking fees across the city.

Under the new parking fee slab, four-wheelers are charged <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>40 per hour with a maximum of <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>200 per day, while two-wheelers are charged <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>20 per hour. Delhi LG reviews work at Jai Prakash Narayan library

Delhi's first modern library, the Jai Prakash Narayan library, is expected to be ready in three to four months, according to Lieutenant governor VK Saxena. The library will have a seating capacity of 200 and will house over 3,000 books. It will include a hall for book-related programmes and will have separate areas for kids, researchers, and multimedia. The library is being constructed by the New Delhi Municipal Council at a cost of ₹6.81 crore.
