Celebrating the next generation of readers and writers! In the fast-paced, digital world, there’s one timeless activity that continues to hold immense value, reading. It's a gateway to personal and professional growth, and we believe in its transformative power. We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 21st 'Top Ten Book Pick' award presentation ceremony on July 22 July. This remarkable event witnessed an extraordinary turnout, with over 50,000 students casting their votes—a record-breaking turnout that underscores the flourishing reading culture within Hong Kong's schools. Dr Christine Choi, JP, the esteemed Secretary for Education, graced the occasion with her presence and shared a timeless gem - Lin Yutang's ‘The Gay Genius: The Life and Times of Su Tungpo’, inspiring students to explore these literary masterpieces. Mr Armstrong Lee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EdCity, also shared a quote from the Book of Rites, encouraging students to find companionship in books and promote a 'Read and Share' culture with their peers. Congratulations to Patrick Tang (STEM Sir) and Leah Lai (黎欣瞳), a Form 4 student, for their exceptional achievements! They emerged as winners of the newly introduced 'Local Original Works Grand Prize' (本地原創大獎) for their captivating storytelling, which has enthralled young readers and expanded their horizons in unimaginable ways.
