Please welcome to the stage, Pam Coleman! Pam is the Founder of Acton Academy Charleston. Her education journey included earning an MBA from NYU and a Masters in Education. She has worked in educational sales and has taught history and English. Pam’s work as a historic interpreter led her to the Stamford History Center where she served as Chairman of the Board of Directors (among other duties). She was happily retired in Charleston, SC when she started looking for the best schooling options for her granddaughter. It soon became apparent to Pam and her daughter that modern education has not changed to meet the needs of the 21st century. Pam’s passion for learning ignited her search for innovative methods and schools. Acton Academy’s focus on child-motivated learning, character development and real-world skill-building inspired her to open an Acton Affiliate in Charleston for her granddaughter and for the families in her community. Mike Wieckowski is the CEO and one of the founders of LUMIQ Inc., a Charleston based technology company that combines printed artwork with LED’s to visualizing live data. He holds a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering, and has been designing electronic products for over 20 years, from the tiniest of microchips to high power radar scanners and everything in between. When he’s not tinkering in the lab, Mike can usually be found with his wife and three daughters playing sports, flying airplanes, and making music.
