As the Director of Racial Equity at BLACK, Jasmine is committed to a holistic approach to advancing racial equity, recognizing the interconnectedness of social, economic, and educational factors. She emphasizes the importance of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable strategies to create lasting change. A high-profile civic leader and sought-after speaker on DEI, social justice, access, and opportunity, Jasmine was recently recognized as Top 50 Women Leaders of Illinois (2022), Business Elite’s 40 Under 40 (2022), and one of Chicago’s most influential and inclusive leaders as she was selected as one of only fifty Chicago United – 2021 Business Leaders of Color. She has also received the Chicago Defender’s Women of Excellence award (2021), Chicago Scholars’ 35 Under 35 Making a Difference in Chicago award (2018), and the Sister Margaret Traxler Humanitarian award from Margaret’s Village (2017) for her civic engagement work. Jasmine is an alumna of Spelman College and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

BLACK's new Executive Intern - Operations Joy Adams pledged her career to dismantling systemic racism and promoting inclusivity and equity through the work she does. With a deep-rooted passion for social justice, she has harnessed her business and educational background in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to drive meaningful change in her community. Through strategic initiatives, workshops, and collaborations with diverse stakeholders, Joy has made a significant impact in fostering awareness, challenging biases and outdated policies, and creating an equitable work environment. Her tireless efforts exemplify a commitment to creating a more just and equal society for all. Joy has earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Northern Illinois University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in I/O Psychology, expected to be completed by 2025. Her long-term aspiration is to pursue a Doctorate in Sociology. Joy has also achieved a DEI Executive Certificate from Loyola University, alongside various other certifications in Project Management, Leadership, Cultural Competency, and Anti-Racist Training.
